How to find the best rental experience:
Get the best rental home value:
- Reserve your vacation rental as soon as possible. Rental schedules often open 12 months in advance (or in September just after Summertime ends). Many groups reserve their Summer vacation rentals during Christmas and Thanksgiving get-togethers. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
- To get the best rental home within your budget, we suggest reserving in Fall or Spring. You'll enjoy lower rates, greater selection, beautiful weather and the absence of large crowds at your favorite Beaufort, SC restaurants and activities. Many vacationers use this method to reserve larger homes, or to book a beach front rental that would otherwise be unavailable or unaffordable during the high season.
- Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property owner if your group qualifies for a price reduction or discount.
- Booking websites typically offer their guests an option to buy vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which usually costs anywhere between 1% - 5% of the base booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed vacation time as a result of medical-related issues or weather disasters, as well as evacuation costs or charges, such as an unexpected hotel stay or additional fuel expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a life-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your property manager for details.
- Look for your local Beaufort, SC visitors guide when you check-in. If your rental home doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local shops and fuel stations. In addition to great information, travel guide magazines have coupons for local shops and restaurants.
Use filters to narrow your rental search:
- Choose vacation week and spending budget.
- Decide how many beds and the bed configuration your group needs. Luxury Oceanfront with Panoramic Views, Golf Cart Included 727 Sea Dragon has 4 bedrooms and 5 bathrooms.
- Specific information about bedrooms and bed counts & types is often available on booking websites. Otherwise, call the property management company before you reserve the rental. Note that most property listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which usually includes pull-out couches.

- Looking for special amenities? Most rental websites include search filters for amenities.
- Proper accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for those with limited mobility. .
Have a wonderful stay:
- Add the property manager's contact info to your smartphone. Understand and take a copy of check in/check out procedures.
- Ask questions. You may need instructions for a garage door opener, A/V setup or WIFI setup. Contact your host. They are there to help! A brief call prevents quite a few issues.
- Keep the property locked while you are away! Don't let crooks ruin your holiday.
- To make sure that damages aren't attributed to your family's visit, inspect the rental for any problem areas during arrival. Call the property manager immediately to document any issues. If there is a dispute about legal responsibility later, having the recorded issues and contact attempts will be helpful.
- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like disrespectful vacationers bothering your peaceful home. Use the golden rule for best judgement. If they like you, locals might even recommend great restaurants and scenic spots you would've never otherwise known!
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Neighbors can frequently help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to rent beach equipment, have a great night out, or the best spots for shopping?
- Double-check every room of the rental property to make sure that you've packed everything on check-out day. Make sure to check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden items. Clean the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Please make sure to walk through the rental one final time and keep an eye out for any damage. We suggest walking through with the property manager whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the manager isn't available, take photos of the property to record its condition at check-out.
- Remember to leave feedback! Property managers rely on great feedback to stimulate more reservations. They'll be grateful for your review. Alternatively, if something wasn't right, other vacationing families will appreciate that you share your review find their best vacation home. Remember to be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the host had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded quickly to fix it.
