How to get the best Fripp Island rental home experience:
Finding your best deal:
- Reserve your rental as early as possible. Rental schedules generally open 12 months in advance (or in September just after Summertime ends). Many families book their Summer rentals during Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years Eve get-togethers. Book before these holidays for best selection.
- To find the best value, shift your vacation to the Spring or Fall shoulder seasons. May, September, and October offer warmer weather, less crowded beaches, and greatly reduced traffic.
- Some hosts and property managers offer discounts for active duty military and veterans. It's always a good idea to check with your property manager to see if special offers are available for your family before you book.
- Booking websites often offer their guests an option to obtain trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which will generally cost between 1% - 5% of the base reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any days missed as a result of personal medical-related catastrophes or weather, as well as ensuing additional evacuation costs, such as an unanticipated hotel overnight or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a bank account-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your host for details.
- Find a copy of your local Beaufort, SC visitors guide magazine upon arrival. If your rental doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local shops and fuel stations. In addition to great local information, visitors guides contain money saving offers on local shops and restaurants.
Make a plan and choose the bestvacation home:
- Choose your dates and spending budget.
- Decide how many beds and the configuration your group requires. Castaway Cottage - pet friendly, close to beach access, golf cart included has 4 bedrooms and 4 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our rental home search.
- Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts & types is often available on booking websites. If you don't see them listed, contact the host before reserving your home. Remember that most properties list maximum guest capacity, which oftentimes includes pull-out couches and bunk beds.
- Some properties allow pets, and some don't. Acceptable types of family pet, weight and breeds may be restricted, and additional costs may apply. Ask your host about allowable pet guidelines before booking.
- If there's an individual Beaufort, SC beach you crave, look for homes that are either nearby, or those that cater especially to your desires.
- Appropriate accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for guests with disabilities. .
Know before you go:
- Get the owner's contact number and check in/check out procedures for your rental. Put the manager's information in your smartphone and wallet.
- Ask questions. You may want instructions for a hot tub, television set or coffee maker. Contact your host. They are there to help! A brief phone call prevents quite a few difficulties.
- Lock your rental home while you're out and about. Protect the owner's property and your stuff!
- During arrival, document any damages to the property and immediately contact the host. Record all coorespondence.
- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like troublesome vacationers bothering your peace. Practice the golden rule for best judgement. Happy residents may even recommend great beaches and attractions you would've never otherwise known!
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Residents can usually point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to take kids for a treat, have a great night out, or the best spots for shopping?
- Double-check the vacation property to make sure that you've packed all belongings at check-out. Check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden items. Clean the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Inspect the rental one final time and keep an eye out for any damage. We advise walking through with the host whenever you can. If the property manager isn't available, ensure that you take video and pictures of the property to record its condition at check-out.
- Did your family have a terrific vacation? Most rental websites make it easy for vacationers to provide comments. If your rental property and/or property manager was fantastic, they would love to hear about it. If anything was out of order and they failed to address it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make a note as part of your review.
