Getting the best Beaufort rental home experience:
Sticking to your spending budget:
- In the Beaufort, SC area, The sooner you can reserve a vacation home, the easier your search will be. The most desirable vacation homes are booked early. Booking your vacation property six - twelve months before your travel dates is recommended. Winter holidays are excellent times to search for and book your rental property.
- Booking a rental in the Fall or Spring is a good way to save on your vacation home. Rates are lower, and you'll find a better selection of suitable properties. Many vacationers use this method to find larger homes within budget, or to book a beach front vacation rental that would otherwise be unavailable or unaffordable during the Summer months. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Beaufort, SC vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation near the ocean? Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years are great times to gather with family and friends at the beach.
- Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property manager if your family qualifies for a reduced rate.
- Booking websites often offer customers an option to buy trip insurance. Trip insurance, which costs 1% - 5% of the base booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed days as a result of medical-related issues or weather, as well as hurricane evacuation costs or charges, such as an unanticipated hotel or extra gas expenses. Trip insurance can be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for details.
- Many property management companies supply Beaufort, SC area visitor guide magazines which often include special deals, either offered directly by local businesses, or through a relationship between the rental management company and the business itself. You can also find Beaufort, SC area magazine and coupon books at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers.
How to choose and book your Beaufort, SC rental home:
- Begin by choosing your the best vacation week and a max budget.
- Decide how many beds and the configuration you need. Superior King Room at The Emerald has 1 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our Beaufort, SC vacation rental search.
- Precise information about bedrooms and bed counts is regularly available online. If you don't see them listed, call the property owner before you book the vacation home. Remember that most properties list maximum guest capacity, which often includes sofa beds in living rooms.
- Some rentals allow pets, and some do not. Allowable types of family pet, size and breeds may be restricted, and added costs may apply. Ask the host about allowable pet guidelines before booking.
- If there's an individual Beaufort, SC destination you are crazy about, keep an eye out for homes that are either nearby, or those that cater to your needs.
- Suitable accessibility can make or break a vacation for those with limited mobility. Confirm all necessary amenities are available and included before reserving a rental.
During your stay:
- Add the owner's contact info to your phone. Take a copy of check in/check out procedures.
- Hosts are available to help! Don't be shy to ask any questions during your stay.
- Protect the property owner (and your stuff!) by locking and securing the home when you are gone, just like you would back home.
- Note any issues with the rental upon arrival, and immediately e-mail them to the property manager. We specifically recommend e-mails and text messages, as they usually contain built-in time stamps that can be helpful if a dispute arises.
- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like obnoxious visitors bothering your home life. Apply the golden rule for best judgement. Happy residents may even recommend great restaurants and places you would've not otherwise known!
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Residents can often point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to find the best bike paths, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for bird watching?
- Don't leave anything behind! Before you drive away, walk through the property to reconfirm you've collected all belongings. Make sure to check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden treasure. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
- Did you have a fantastic time? Most rental managers make it easy for travelers to provide reviews. If your rental property and/or property manager was great, they would love to hear about it. If anything was out of order and they failed to fix it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make it a point as part of your comments.
