Beaufort rental home tips:
Cost saving strategies:
- June, July, and August are the most expensive months along the coast of SC. To find the best value, shift your family's Beaufort, SC vacation week to the Spring or Fall shoulder seasons. May, September, and even October offer warm temperatures, less crowded beaches, and greatly reduced traffic. Many vacationers use this method to find larger homes within budget, or to reserve a beach front vacation rental that would otherwise be unavailable or unaffordable during the Summer months. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Beaufort, SC vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation near the ocean? Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years are great times to gather with friends and family at the beach.
- The sooner you can reserve a home, the better your selection will be. The best properties are booked early. Booking your rental up to twelve months before your travel dates is recommended. Holidays such as Christmas and Thanksgiving are excellent times to search for and book your rental home.
- Owners sometimes offer discounts or promotional rates for veterans. Ask your host or property manager if special offers are available for your group before you book.
- Management companies and individual rental owners typically offer guests an option to add trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which costs 1% - 5% of the reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for days missed as a result of personal medical-related catastrophes or weather disasters, as well as evacuation charges, such as an unexpected hotel stay or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance might be a a life-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for program terms and fees.
- Often, rental management companies supply Beaufort, SC area visitors guides which will include money-saving offers, either offered independently by local companies, or by way of a partnership between the management company and the business itself. You can also find Beaufort, SC visitors guide and coupon books at local shops and grocery stores.
Planning and picking the perfectvacation home:
- Select dates and maximum budget.
- Decide how many bedrooms and the configuration your group requires. Peaceful cottage close to downtown Beaufort, SC has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our Beaufort, SC rental home search.
- Precise information regarding bedrooms and bed counts & types is almost always accessible on booking websites. If you don't see them listed, contact the property manager before reserving your rental. Remember that most properties list maximum guest capacity, which often includes pull-out couches.
- Are you visiting for a single event? If so, use a map search to browse nearby properties.
- Suitable accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for guests with disabilities. Remember to confirm all required amenities are available and included before reserving a rental
- Some rentals allow pets, and others do not. Acceptable types of pet, weight and breeds may be restricted, and additional fees may apply. Ask the host about pets before booking.
Know before you go:
- Review arrival and departure procedures before leaving home. Save the directions to your phone, and take a printed backup.
- Make a record of any issues with the rental at check in, and immediately send them to the host. We specifically recommend texts and e-mails, as they usually contain time stamps that are useful if damages are attributed to your stay.
- Hosts are there to help! Don't be shy to ask any questions during your stay.
- Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking regulations can make a stay more pleasurable. You'll increase your chance to make some new local friends, and resident neighbors are a fantastic source for finding the best local attractions.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Residents can often point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to find the best seashells, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for fine dining?
- Lock your rental while you're out and about. Protect the owner's property and your stuff!
- Just prior to departing, complete a walk-through to make sure you haven't forget anything. Make sure to check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden items. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Inspect the property a final time and keep an eye out for any damage. We recommend inspecting the property with the host whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the property manager isn't available, remember to take video and pictures of the rental to record its condition at check-out.
- Did your group have a fantastic vacation? Many rental managers make it easy for customers to provide comments. If your rental and/or property manager was wonderful, they will likely appreciate your kind words. If anything was out of order and they failed to correct it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make a note as part of your review.
