Tips to get the very best Beaufort, SC rental home experience:
Cost saving strategies:
- Summer time is high season in Beaufort. To get the best value, try shifting your family's Beaufort, SC vacation dates to the Spring or Fall shoulder seasons. May, September, and even October offer pleasant weather, less crowded beaches, and reduced traffic.
- Book your rental as early as possible. Rental schedules often open 12 months in advance (or in September just after the Summer season ends). Many families reserve their Summer vacations during Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years Eve gatherings. Book before these holidays for best selection.
- Some property management companies offer discounts for active duty military and veterans. It's always a good idea to check with your property manager to see if special offers are available for your family.
- Property managers typically offer guests an option to purchase vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which normally costs 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for days missed as a result of medical-related catastrophes or weather disasters, as well as evacuation charges, such as an unanticipated hotel overnight or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance might be a a life-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your host for program terms and fees.
- Many management companies supply Beaufort, SC area visitor guides which include coupons, either offered independently by local businesses, or through a relationship between the property management company and the business itself. You can also find Beaufort, SC visitors guide and coupon books at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers.
Narrow your Search:
- First, have your group choose a vacation week and a maximum budget.
- Determine how many beds and the bed configuration you need. Near Beaufort, Port Royal, Parris Island, Hunting Island, & Golf! has 4 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms.
- Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts is usually available online. If they are not listed, contact the property management company before booking the vacation home. Note that most properties list maximum guest capacity, which often includes pull-out couches. You'll need to work out what configuration is best for your vacation.
- If there's an individual Beaufort, SC attraction you love, browse properties that are either near by, or those that cater especially to your requirements.
- Suitable accessibility can make or break a vacation for persons with disabilities. Confirm all necessary amenities are available before booking
- Some rentals allow pets, but some do not. Acceptable types of family pet, weight and breeds may be restricted, and additional costs may apply. Ask the property manager about pets before booking.
More considerations:
- Add the host's contact info to your phone. Take a copy of check in/check out procedures.
- During arrival, make note of any issues with the property and immediately alert the property manager. Keep records of all correspondence just in case a dispute arises.
- Hosts are great sources of help! Feel free to ask any questions during your stay.
- Respect the neighborhood. Often, adjacent homes are filled by permanent residents. Respecting quiet hours and parking rules is the right thing to do.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Residents can usually help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to spend a rainy day, have a great night out, or the best spots for BBQ?
- Ensure you protect the rental owner (and your things!) by locking the property when you are away, just like you would back home.
- Re-check every room of the vacation property to make sure that you've packed all belongings at departure. Remember to check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden items. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Inspect the rental a final time and look for damage. We recommend walking through with the property manager whenever possible. If the manager isn't available, ensure that you take photos of the rental to record its condition at check-out.
- Did your family have a wonderful vacation? Many vacation rental websites make it easy for clients to provide feedback. If your rental property and/or property management company was terrific, they always love to hear your praise. If anything was out of order and they failed to address it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make a note as part of your comments.
