Fripp Island vacation rental tips:
Finding the best rental home value:
- Reserve your vacation home as early as possible. Rental schedules usually open 12 months in advance (or in September just after Summer ends). Many groups book their Summer vacation rentals during Thanksgiving and Christmas gatherings. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
- June, July, and August are the most expensive months in coastal SC. Reserve your Beaufort, SC rental property in Fall or Spring to get the benefit of gorgeous weather while saving money and avoiding crowded roads, restaurants, and activities. Many vacationers use this method to reserve larger homes, or to book a beach front rental that would otherwise be unavailable during the Summer months.
- Some hosts and property managers offer discounts for veterans. Ask your property manager if rate reductions are available for your group.
- Management companies and individual rental owners typically offer customers an option to obtain vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which normally will cost you between 1% - 5% of the base stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for days missed as a result of personal medical-related issues or weather disasters, as well as evacuation charges, such as an unanticipated hotel or extra fuel expenses. Trip insurance can be a a life-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your host for specifics.
- Find a copy of your local Beaufort, SC visitors guide magazine when you arrive at the rental property. If your rental doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local shops and fuel stations. In addition to great information, travel guide magazines contain offers and deals for local shops and restaurants.
Selecting the perfect rental home in Fripp Island:
- Choose a designated group leader, choose your vacation dates, and choose a max budget.
- Decide how many beds and what type of bedroom configuration your family needs. 87 Ocean Creek - Canal w/Shared Dock, 6 Passenger Golf Cart has 4 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our Beaufort, SC vacation rental search.
- Precise information about bedrooms and bed counts & types is normally available online. If they are not listed, contact the host before you reserve the vacation property. Note that most property listings specify maximum guest capacity, which usually includes sofa beds and bunks. You'll need to determine which bed configuration is right for your vacation group.
- Some rentals allow pets, but others do not. Acceptable types of dog or cat, weight and breeds may be restricted, and added charges may apply. Ask the owner about allowable breeds and types before booking.
- Does your group require particular amenities? Most rental websites include amenity lists and search filters.
- Suitable accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for the less-mobile. Confirm all necessary amenities are available and included before reserving a rental
Additional considerations:
- Review check in & check out procedures before traveling. Take a printed copy, and save the instructions to your smartphone.
- Hosts are great sources of help! Feel free to ask questions during your stay.
- Lock your rental home while you are out and about. Protect the owner's property and your things!
- Upon arrival, note any damages to the property and immediately contact the host. Keep records of all correspondence just in case a dispute arises.
- Be respectful. Often, surrounding homes are occupied by local residents. Respecting noise limits and parking rules reduces conflict and allows everyone to enjoy their day.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Locals can frequently help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to order delicious takeout, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for fishing?
- Don't leave anything behind! Before departing, take a walk through the property to reconfirm you've collected all of your things. Remember to check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden treasure. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Go through the rental one final time and look for any damage. We suggest walking through with the property manager whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the property manager is not available, remember to take pictures of the property to record its condition.
- Did your group have a fantastic time? Many rental websites make it easy for vacationers to provide reviews. If your rental property and/or host was terrific, they would love to hear about it. If anything was out of order and they failed to address it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make a note as part of your review.
