Rental booking tips and tricks:
When to visit & When to reserve a Beaufort, SC rental home:
- Summertime is the most expensive season in coastal SC. Booking a rental in the Fall or Spring is a great way to save money on your vacation rental. Rental rates are lower, and you'll find a better selection of desirable properties. Many vacationers use this strategy to reserve larger homes, or to book an oceanfront rental that would otherwise be unaffordable during the Summer months.
- Reserve your rental as soon as possible. Rental schedules usually become available a year in advance (or in September just after the Summer season ends). Many families reserve their Summer vacations during Winter holiday gatherings. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
- Hosts sometimes offer discounts or promotional rates for veterans. Ask your property manager if discounts are available for your group before you book.
- Property management companies often offer guests an option to purchase trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which normally will cost between 1% - 5% of the booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed vacation time as a result of personal medical-related catastrophes or weather, as well as evacuation costs, such as an unexpected hotel or extra gasoline expenses. Trip insurance might be a a life-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your host for additional information.
- Find a copy of your local visitors guide when you check-in. If your rental property doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local grocery stores and visitor centers. In addition to great information, visitor guides have offers and deals for nearby accommodations and attractions.
Selecting the perfect rental home in Fripp Island:
- Start by having your family agree to a vacation week and a spending budget.
- Note the number beds and the configuration your group requires. Tropical Paradise! 200' from Fripp Island Beach! Partial ocean views double lot has 4 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms.
- Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts is normally accessible online. If not, email the property owner before you reserve the rental. Note that most properties list the maximum guest capacity, which typically includes pull out couches in living rooms.
- Visiting for a specific attraction or event? If so, use a map search to browse nearby rentals.
- Appropriate accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for the less-mobile. Confirm all required amenities are available and included before booking.
- If your family is traveling with pets, filter your search for a rental that allows animals. Make sure to ask for information on breed, weight, and type restrictions. Usually, property owners charge pet deposits and fees.
Advice for a smooth stay:
- Add the owner's contact info to your smartphone. Understand and take a copy of check in/check out procedures.
- Upon arrival, document any damages to the rental property and immediately alert the property manager. Record all correspondence in case a dispute arises.
- Hosts are great sources of help! Feel free to ask any questions during your stay.
- Be a good neighbor. Often times, nearby homes are filled by local residents. Respecting noise limits and parking regulations is the right thing to do.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Local residents can often help. Who better to ask where to book the best tours, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for fishing?
- Lock your rental while you're out. Keep your property safe!
- On check-out day, complete a final walk-through to confirm you didn't forget any personal items. Remember to check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden belongings. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Record a video to document the condition of the property.
- Did you have a fantastic vacation? Many rental management companies make it easy for customers to provide feedback. If your rental and/or property manager was fantastic, they will likely appreciate your kind words. If anything was out of order and they failed to correct it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make it a point as part of your feedback.
