How to find the best Beaufort, SC vacation home experience:
Sticking to your rental home budget:
- In the Beaufort, SC area, The earlier you can reserve a home, the easier your search will be. The most desirable properties are booked early. Reserving your vacation rental six to twelve months before your travel dates is recommended. Christmas, Thanksgiving and New Years Eve are excellent times to search for and reserve your vacation home.
- Booking in the Fall or Spring shoulder seasons is a great way to save money on your rental home. Rental rates are lower, and you'll find a larger selection of suitable homes.
- Some property managers offer discounts or promotional rates for active duty military and veterans. Remember to ask your property manager if special offers are available for your family.
- Management companies and individual rental owners frequently offer customers an option to obtain trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which will generally cost anywhere between 1% - 5% of the base reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any days missed as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather, as well as evacuation costs, such as an unanticipated hotel stay or extra gasoline expenses. Trip insurance might be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your host for additional information.
- Often, management companies and vacation rental houses supply Beaufort, SC area visitor guide magazines that include coupons, either offered directly by local companies, or by way of a relationship with the management company and the business itself. You can also find visitors guide and coupon books at local gas stations and shopping centers.
How to choose the best vacation home in the Beaufort, SC area:
- First, have your group choose trip dates and a spending budget.
- Note the number bedrooms and the configuration you need. Beaufort's Blue Heron Hideaway on Battery Creek has 1 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our Beaufort, SC vacation rental search.
- Precise information about bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is normally available online. If you don't see them listed, call the property management company before reserving your rental. Note that most property listings specify maximum guest capacity, which frequently includes pull-out couches and bunk beds. You'll need to work out what configuration is suitable for your trip.
- If your family is traveling with pets, you must reserve a pet-friendly rental. Ask for specifics on breed, size, and type restrictions. Note that some property owners charge additional pet fees.
- Is your group looking for special amenities? Most rental search websites include search filters for amenities. Amenity filters help you quickly remove less-optimal properties.
- Suitable accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for persons with a disability. Make certain to ask about wheel chair entry, pool lifts and specialized equipment needs.
Tips for a fantastic stay:
- Add the property manager's contact information to your phone. Understand and take a copy of arrival/departure procedures.
- Hosts are great sources of help! Feel free to ask questions during your stay.
- Ensure you protect the property owner (and your stuff!) by keeping the rental locked up while you are away, just like you would back home.
- Make a record of any damages to the rental upon arrival, and immediately contact the owner. We especially recommend e-mails and text messages, as they usually contain time stamps that can be very helpful if a dispute is filed.
- Respect your neighbors. Frequently, nearby homes are occupied by permanent residents. Respecting noise limits and parking rules is the right thing to do.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Residents can usually help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to see a beautiful sunrise or sunset, have a great night out, or the best spots for crabbing?
- Don't leave anything behind! Just before you drive away, take a walk through the rental to make sure you've collected all belongings. Remember to check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden items. Clean out the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
- Did you have a great vacation? Many rental home management companies make it easy for customers to provide comments. If your property and/or host was terrific, they would love to hear it. If anything was inoperable and they failed to correct it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make it a point as part of your review.
