Beaufort, SC vacation rental booking tips:
Sticking to a spending budget:
- The earlier you can reserve a vacation rental, the better your selection will be. The most desirable rental properties are booked very early. Reserving your vacation rental up to 12 months before your travel dates is recommended. Winter holidays are excellent times to search for and reserve your vacation rental.
- June, July, and August are the most expensive months in Fripp Island. To book the largest rental home for your budget, we strongly suggest reserving in the Fall or Spring. You'll benefit from lower rates, greater selection, beautiful weather and the absence of giant crowds at Beaufort, SC restaurants, tours, and activities. Many vacationers use this strategy to reserve larger homes, or to book a beach front vacation rental that would otherwise be unaffordable during the high season.
- Veterans and Active Duty Military members may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property owner or host whether your family qualifies for a reduced rate.
- Property managers usually offer guests an option to obtain trip insurance. Trip insurance, which generally will cost anywhere between 1% - 5% of the reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed vacation time as a result of personal medical-related catastrophes or weather disasters, as well as hurricane evacuation costs, such as an unanticipated hotel stay or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance might be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen occurs. Ask the property owner for specifics.
- Find a copy of your local Beaufort, SC area magazine upon checking in. If your rental home doesn't have one, you can find them at local grocery stores and visitor centers. In addition to great local articles, visitors guide magazines have deals for local accommodations, restaurants and tours.
Use filters to search efficiently:
- Select your vacation week and max budget.
- Note the number beds and what type of bedroom configuration your group needs. Hyp-Nautic Views, Cozy 1 BR/1.5 BA Condo 729 N Hampton Court has 1 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms.
- Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts is often accessible online. If you don't see them listed, email or call the property owner before reserving the home. Remember that most listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which oftentimes includes pull-out couches and bunk beds.
- If your group is bringing pets, you'll need to find a rental that allows animals. Request details on breed, size, and type requirements. Often, hosts require additional pet deposits and fees.
- Visiting for a specific event or attraction? If so, use a map search to locate nearby properties.
- Suitable accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for guests that require the use of a wheelchair. .
Advice for a wonderful stay:
- Review arrival and departure procedures before leaving home. Take a printed copy, and save the instructions to your phone.
- Ask questions. You may want instructions for a fireplace, intercom or coffee maker. Contact your property manager. They are there to help! A brief phone call prevents a lot of difficulties.
- Ensure you protect the property owner (and your stuff!) by keeping the rental locked up while you are away, just like you would at home.
- To make sure that damages aren't attributed to your visit, inspect the rental for any problem areas upon your arrival. Speak to the host immediately to record your findings. If there is a dispute about who is responsible, having a record of issues and contact attempts will be very helpful.
- Respect your neighbors. Often times, nearby homes are occupied by local residents. Respecting noise limits and parking rules reduces conflict and allows everyone to enjoy their day.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local! Residents can often help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to find the fresh catch of the day, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for BBQ?
- Don't leave anything behind! Before you drive away, take a walk through the rental property to make sure you've collected all of your things. Re-check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden treasure. Clean the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Please make sure to walk through the property a final time and scan for any damage. We advise inspecting the property with the host whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the property manager is not available, take pictures of the property to record its condition.
- Did your family have a fantastic stay? Many vacation rental websites make it easy for travelers to provide feedback. If your rental and/or property manager was wonderful, they would love to hear it. If anything was defective and they failed to fix it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make a note as part of your comments.
