How to get the best Fripp Island vacation rental experience:

How to get the best rental home value:

  • Reserve your vacation rental as soon as possible. Rental schedules often become available a year in advance (or in September just after Summertime ends). Many families reserve their Summer rentals during Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years Eve gatherings. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
  • Summertime is the most expensive season in Fripp Island. Reserving a rental home in Spring or Fall is a great way to save money on your vacation home. Rates are lower, and you'll find a larger selection of acceptable homes. Many vacationers use this strategy to find larger homes within budget, or to reserve a beach front rental that would otherwise be unaffordable during June, July, and August.
  • Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property manager if your vacationing group qualifies for a special rate.
  • Management companies and individual rental owners usually offer renters an option to add trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which generally will cost 1% - 5% of the base reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for days missed as a result of personal medical-related catastrophes or weather, as well as hurricane evacuation costs, such as an unanticipated hotel or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance can be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen occurs. Ask the property owner for more information.
  • Find a copy of your local Beaufort, SC visitors guide upon checking in. If your rental doesn't have one, you can find them at local shops and fuel stations. In addition to great local information, travel guides contain deals for nearby accommodations, tours and attractions.

Filter your search:

  • Start by choosing potential vacation weeks and a max budget.
  • Note the number bedrooms and the configuration your group needs. DIRECT BEACH FRONT/OCEAN FRONT. John Fripp Villa 101 has 1 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our vacation rental search.
  • Specific information regarding bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is often accessible online. If not, contact the property owner before you reserve your home. Note that most properties list maximum guest capacity, which usually includes pull out couches in living rooms. You'll need to work out what is right for your vacation family.
  • If your family is bringing pets, filter your search for a pet-friendly vacation rental. Ask for details on breed, weight, and type restrictions. Some property managers charge additional pet fees.
  • Visiting for a specific event or attraction? If so, use a map search to locate nearby properties.
  • Proper accessibility can make or break a vacation for those with limited mobility. Make certain to inquire about specialized equipment and wheel chair accessibility.

More considerations:

  • Put the host's contact information in your smartphone.
  • Hosts are available to help! Don't be shy to ask any questions during your stay.
  • Lock your rental while you're out and about. Protect your property!
  • Upon check-in, note any issues with the property and immediately alert the host. Record all correspondence in case a dispute arises.
  • Respect the neighborhood. Frequently, adjacent homes are filled by permanent residents. Respecting late-night noise limits and parking policies can make a stay significantly more pleasurable.
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Local residents can often help. Who better to ask where to enjoy a steak with a view, have a great night out, or the best spots for fine dining?
  • When it's time to leave, complete a walk-through to make sure you have not forget any personal items. Re-check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden treasure. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Go through the rental one final time and keep an eye out for any damage. We advise walking through with the host whenever you can. If the manager isn't available, take video of the rental to record its condition.
  • After your trip, leave a review! Property owners rely on good feedback to stimulate future bookings. They'll be thankful for your review. Alternatively, if something went wrong, other vacationers will will be grateful for your feedback and help them have the best future vacation. Please be fair with your feedback If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the owner had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded reasonably to remedy it.
