Beaufort, SC rental booking tips and tricks:

Money saving strategies:

  • To get the most suitable rental within your budget, we recommend booking in the Fall or Spring. You'll enjoy lower rental rates, better selection, warm weather and the absence of large crowds at Beaufort, SC restaurants, tours, and activities. Many vacationers use this method to reserve larger homes, or to reserve an oceanfront vacation rental that would otherwise be unavailable during June, July, and August. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Beaufort, SC vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation on the coast? Christmas, Thanksgiving, and New Years Eve are great times to gather with family and friends at the beach.
  • Book your vacation rental as soon as possible. Rental schedules usually become available 12 months in advance (or in September just after Summertime ends). Many groups book their Summer vacations during Thanksgiving and Christmas get-togethers. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
  • Owners sometimes offer special rates for veterans. Remember to ask your property manager if special offers are available for your group before you book.
  • Property managers often offer their guests an option to obtain trip insurance. Trip insurance, which normally costs between 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any days missed as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather, as well as hurricane evacuation costs or charges, such as an unanticipated hotel stay or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a bank account-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask the property owner for more information.
  • Look for your local Beaufort, SC area magazine when you check-in. If your rental property doesn't have one, you can find them at local grocery stores and visitor centers. In addition to great local stories, travel guide magazines contain coupons for local attractions, tours, restaurants, and shops.

Use filters to search efficiently:

  • Start by having your family commit to vacation dates and a maximum budget.
  • Note the number bedrooms and the bed configuration your group needs. Newly Decorated 3 Bedroom Villa - Golf cart included - 604 Newhaven has 3 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms.
  • Specific information about bedrooms and bed counts is generally available on booking websites. If you don't see them listed, reach out to the host before reserving the home. Remember that most property listings specify the max. guest capacity, which typically includes sofa beds in living rooms. You'll need to work out what is best for your family.
  • If there's an individual Beaufort, SC attraction you crave, look for rentals that are either nearby, or those that cater especially to your desires.
  • Appropriate accessibility can make or break a vacation for those with limited mobility. Confirm all required amenities are available and included before reserving a rental.
  • Traveling with pets? Many vacation homes allow animals, but guidelines and restrictions apply. Type of pet, size and breeds may be limited. Ask your property manager before booking, and study your rental agreement! Additional pet fees or costs could be applied to your agreement.

Considerations for your stay:

  • Take a copy of the owner's contact number and entry/exit procedures for your rental property. We recommend storing the host's contact information in your smartphone.
  • To make certain that damages aren't attributed to your family's visit, make note of any problem areas upon check in. Make contact with the rental manager immediately to record your findings. If there is a dispute, having the recorded concerns and contact attempts will be helpful.
  • Property managers are there to help! Feel free to ask any questions before, during, or after your stay.
  • Be respectful of your neighbors. Often, surrounding homes are filled by local residents. Respecting noise limits and parking regulations is the right thing to do.
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Residents can usually help. Who better to ask where to find the best seashells, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for bird watching?
  • Ensure you protect the rental owner (and your stuff!) by locking the rental while you are out, just like you would at home.
  • Re-check every room of the rental property to make sure that you've packed everything at departure. Remember to check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden treasure. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Inspect the property a final time and look for damage. We recommend inspecting the property with the host whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the host is not available, ensure that you take photos and video of the property to record its condition.
  • Did your family have a wonderful stay? Most rental home management companies make it easy for customers to provide feedback. If your property and/or property management company was wonderful, they would love to hear it. If anything was wrong and they failed to fix it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make a note as part of your feedback.
