Tips to get the optimal vacation property experience:

Get the most from your vacation rental budget:

  • To get the best value, consider changing your family's Beaufort, SC vacation dates to the Spring or Fall months. May, September, and October offer pleasant temperatures, , and reduced traffic. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Beaufort, SC vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation near the ocean? Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years are great times to gather with loved ones at your favorite beach.
  • Reserve your vacation rental as early as possible. Rental schedules often open a year in advance (or in September just after the Summer season ends). Many families reserve their Summer vacations during Christmas and Thanksgiving get-togethers. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
  • Some property managers offer discounts for active duty military and veterans. Make sure to check with your property manager to see if rate reductions are available for your family.
  • Management companies and individual rental owners typically offer customers an option to add trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which generally costs 1% - 5% of the base reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed trip time as a result of medical-related issues or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation costs or charges, such as an unanticipated hotel overnight or extra gasoline expenses. Trip insurance might be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for additional information.

  • Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Locals can usually point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to order the best nachos, have a great night out, or the best spots for shopping?
  • Lock your rental property while you're away! Don't let burglars spoil your trip.
  • On check-out day, complete a walk-through to make sure you haven't forget anything. Make sure to check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden items. Clean the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Go through the rental a final time and scan for damage. We recommend inspecting the property with the property manager whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the property manager isn't available, remember to take pictures of the rental to record its condition at check-out.
  • Leave feedback! Property managers rely on great feedback to inspire future reservations. They'll be thankful for your feedback. Alternatively, if something wasn't as described, other families will appreciate that you share your feedback and help them have the best future vacation. Please be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the owner had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded quickly to remedy it.
