How to find the best Fripp Island rental experience:
Sticking to your rental home budget:
- In the Beaufort, SC area, The earlier your group can reserve a home, the easier your search will be. The best vacation homes are booked very early. Booking your vacation property six to twelve months before your vacation dates is recommended. Christmas, Thanksgiving and New Years Eve are excellent times to search for and reserve your rental home.
- Summer is the most expensive season in the Beaufort, SC area. Booking a rental in the Fall or Spring is our favorite way to save money on your rental home. Rates are lower, and you'll find a better selection of suitable homes. Many vacationers use this method to find larger homes within budget, or to book a beach front rental that would otherwise be unaffordable during June, July, and August. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Beaufort, SC vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation on the coast? Christmas, Thanksgiving, and New Years Eve are great times to gather with loved ones at your favorite beach.
- Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property manager or host if your group qualifies for a special rate.
- Property managers typically offer customers an option to buy trip insurance. Trip insurance, which usually will cost anywhere between 1% - 5% of the base reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed vacation time as a result of medical-related catastrophes or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation costs or charges, such as an unanticipated hotel or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance can be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask the property owner for more information.
- Many property management companies supply Beaufort, SC area visitor guides which often include money-saving offers, either offered independently by local businesses, or through a partnership between the rental management company and the business itself. You can also find visitors guide and coupon books at local gas stations and shopping centers.
Use filters to search efficiently:
- Select a group leader, choose your trip dates, and choose a max budget.
- Decide how many bedrooms and what type of bedroom configuration your group requires. Pelican Place - Golf cart included 704 Swordfish has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our Beaufort, SC vacation rental search.
- Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is commonly available online. If they are not listed, email the host before you reserve the rental. Remember that most property listings specify maximum guest capacity, which often includes pull-out couches and bunk beds. You will need to work out what bed configuration is right for your vacation family.
- Some rentals allow pets, and some do not. Acceptable types of dog or cat, weight and breeds may be restricted, and added costs may apply. Ask the host about allowable pet guidelines before booking.
- Visiting for a specific attraction? If so, use a map search to locate nearby properties.
- Suitable accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for those with limited mobility. Confirm all required amenities are available and included before reserving a rental.
More tips for your stay:
- Add the property manager's contact info to your smartphone. Take a copy of arrival/departure procedures.
- Ask questions. You may want instructions for a fireplace, stereo or washer/dryer. Contact your host. They are there to help! A brief call can prevent many issues.
- Protect the property owner (and your things!) by locking and securing the home when you are gone, just like you would at home.
- Note any issues with the rental at check in, and immediately e-mail them to the owner. We specifically recommend e-mails and text messages, as they usually contain time stamps that are useful if damages are assessed.
- Be respectful of your neighbors. Frequently, surrounding homes are filled by local residents. Respecting quiet hours and parking policies can make a stay significantly more pleasurable.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Residents can typically help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to go for the best drinks, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for shopping?
- On check-out day, complete a walk-through to confirm you didn't leave anything behind. Make sure to check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden items. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
- Did you have a terrific time? Most rental websites make it easy for customers to provide comments. If your rental and/or property management company was great, they would love to hear it. If anything was inoperable and they failed to correct it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make it a point as part of your review.
