How to find the best Beaufort, SC vacation rental experience:

When to book & When to go:

  • June, July, and August are the most expensive months in coastal SC. Book your Beaufort, SC rental property in the Fall or Spring shoulder seasons to enjoy beautiful weather while saving money and avoiding crowds. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Beaufort, SC vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday near the ocean? Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years are great times to gather with family and friends at the beach.
  • The earlier you can book a rental home, the easier your search will be. The most desirable rental homes are booked very early. Booking your vacation property 6-12 months before your travel dates is recommended. Holiday gatherings are excellent times to plan and reserve your vacation rental.
  • Owners sometimes offer discounts for veterans and active duty military. Ask your host or property manager if special offers are available for your family.
  • Property management companies often offer guests an option to buy trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which normally costs 1% - 5% of the booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed vacation time as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as hurricane evacuation charges, such as an unexpected hotel stay or additional fuel expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a bank account-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask the property owner for specifics.
  • Look for your local Beaufort, SC visitors guide when you check-in. If your rental home doesn't have one, you can find them at local grocery stores and visitor centers. In addition to great local information, travel guides contain discounts for nearby attractions, tours, restaurants, and shops.

Filter your rental search:

  • To start, have your family decide on trip dates and a budget.
  • Decide how many bedrooms and the configuration your group requires. FrippinFun - Three Bedroom House, Sleeps 8 has 3 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms.
  • Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed types is normally available on booking pages. If you don't see them listed, call the property management company before you book the vacation home. Remember that most property listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which often includes pull-out couches. You will need to determine what is best for your vacation.
  • Are you visiting for a single event or attraction? Try a map search to locate nearby rentals.
  • Appropriate accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for guests with disabilities. Confirm all necessary amenities are available and included before reserving a rental.
  • If your group is traveling with pets, filter your search for a pet-friendly property. Request information on breed, size, and type restrictions. Be aware that some property owners charge additional pet fees.

Advice for your stay:

  • Take a copy of the owner's contact number and check in/check out procedures for your rental.
  • To make sure damages are not linked to your family's stay, make note of any problem areas when you arrive. Get in touch with the host immediately to document any issues. If there is a dispute, having the recorded problems and contact attempts will be very helpful.
  • Property managers are great sources of help! Feel free to ask any questions during your stay.
  • Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like disrespectful visitors bothering your peaceful neighborhood. Apply the golden rule for best judgement. Happy residents may even recommend great restaurants and places you would've never otherwise known!
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Local residents can usually help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to order the best nachos, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for crabbing?
  • Protect the property owner (and your stuff!) by locking and securing the home while you are out, just like you would back home.
  • Re-check the property to confirm that you've packed all of your belongings at departure. Check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden items. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Walk through the property one final time and look for damage. We advise walking through with the host whenever you can. If the property manager isn't available, take video and pictures of the property to record its condition at check-out.
  • Leave feedback! Property owners rely on good ratings to propel more reservations. They'll be thankful for your feedback. Alternatively, if something wasn't right, other vacationing families will appreciate that you share your experience and help them have the best future vacation. Please be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the host could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded quickly to remedy it.
