Tips and Tricks to get the perfect rental home experience:

Getting the most from your vacation rental budget:

  • The sooner you can reserve a home, the easier your search will be. The best vacation rentals are reserved early. Booking your rental home up to 12 months before your vacation dates is recommended. Holidays such as Christmas and Thanksgiving are excellent times to search for and reserve your rental home.
  • June, July, and August are the most expensive months in the Beaufort, SC area. To get the best vacation home for your budget, we highly recommend booking in Fall or Spring. You'll benefit from lower rates, greater selection, warm weather and the absence of large crowds at local restaurants, tours, and activities. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Beaufort, SC vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation near the ocean? Christmas, Thanksgiving, and New Years Eve are great times to gather with family and friends at the beach.
  • Veterans and Active Duty Military members may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property management company or host whether your family qualifies for a discount.
  • Property management companies usually offer renters an option to purchase vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which costs 1% - 5% of the booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed days as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather, as well as hurricane evacuation costs or charges, such as an unexpected hotel or extra gasoline expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask the property owner for program terms and fees.
  • Often, property management companies supply Beaufort, SC area visitor guides which often include coupons, either offered independently by local businesses, or by way of a relationship between the management company and the business itself. You can also find Beaufort, SC visitors guide and coupon books at local shops and grocery stores.

Make a plan and choose a perfectrental home:

  • To start, have your family commit to a vacation week and a budget.
  • Determine how many beds and the bed configuration your family requires. Pet Friendly, Golf Cart Included -15 Fiddlers Point has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our search.
  • Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts & types is regularly accessible online. If not, contact the property management company before you reserve your home. Note that most properties list the maximum guest capacity, which often includes sofa beds in living rooms. You'll need to establish what is best for your group.
  • Some rental properties allow pets, and some do not. Acceptable types of dog or cat, weight and breeds may be restricted, and additional fees may apply. Ask the property manager about pet restrictions before booking.
  • Are you looking for special amenities? Most rental websites include search filters with amenity lists.
  • Proper accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for persons with a disability. Remember to confirm all necessary amenities are available and included before reserving a rental

More considerations:

  • Review arrival and departure procedures before traveling. Add a note with the instructions to your phone, and take a printed backup.
  • Property managers are great sources of help! Feel free to ask any questions before, during, or after your stay.
  • Lock your vacation home while you're out and about. Protect your property!
  • To make certain no damages are attributed to your visit, inspect the rental for any problem areas upon your arrival. Call the host immediately to relay any issues. If there is a dispute about who is responsible, having a record of issues and contact attempts will be valuable.
  • Respecting quiet hours and parking policies can make a stay significantly more pleasurable. Be a good neighbor. You will magnify your chance to make some new local friends, and resident neighbors are usually a fantastic resource to find the best local scenic spots.
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Neighbors can typically help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to find the best bike paths, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for shopping?
  • Don't leave anything behind! Before you drive away, take a walk through the property to reconfirm you've collected everything. Re-check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden belongings. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Go through the rental one final time and keep an eye out for damage. We recommend inspecting the property with the property manager whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the manager is not available, remember to take video and pictures of the property to record its condition at check-out.
  • Leave a review! Property owners rely on good reviews to drive future reservations. They'll be grateful for your review. Alternatively, if something wasn't right, other vacationers will appreciate that you share your experience and help them have the best future vacation. Please be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the property manager had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded quickly to solve it.
