Our top Beaufort, SC rental home tips and tricks:

How to get the best rental home value:

  • Reserve your vacation rental as soon as possible. Rental schedules usually open twelve months in advance (or in September just after Summer ends). Many groups book their Summer vacations during Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years Eve gatherings. Book before these holidays for best selection.
  • To find the best value, try shifting your family's Beaufort, SC vacation week to the Spring or Fall seasons. May, September, and October offer great temperatures, fewer crowds, and reduced traffic. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Beaufort, SC vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday on the coast? Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years are great times to gather with loved ones at the beach.
  • Hosts and Property managers sometimes offer discounts or promotional rates for veterans. Make sure to check with your host or property manager to see if special offers are available for your family before you book.
  • Booking websites typically offer customers an option to buy vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which normally costs anywhere between 1% - 5% of the base booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed trip time as a result of personal medical-related emergencies or weather, as well as evacuation costs or charges, such as an unanticipated hotel or additional gasoline expenses. Trip insurance might be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your host for additional information.
  • Look for your local visitors guide when you check-in. If your rental doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers. In addition to great articles, visitors guide magazines have deals for nearby restaurants, attractions, and tours.

Use filters to narrow your search:

  • Begin by choosing the best vacation week and a spending budget.
  • Note the number beds and what type of bedroom configuration you need. 378 Wahoo Drive - Beautiful Location on Fripp Island - Resort Access Always Included! has 4 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms.
  • Specific details about bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is commonly accessible online. If they are not listed, call the property manager before booking your rental. Remember that most properties list the maximum guest capacity, which usually includes pull-out couches and bunk beds.
  • Some properties allow pets, but some do not. Acceptable types of pet, weight and breeds may be restricted, and added fees may apply. Ask the host about allowable pet guidelines before booking.
  • Visiting for a specific event? Use a map search to browse nearby rentals.
  • Appropriate accessibility can make or break a vacation for persons with a disability. Make certain to ask about specialized equipment and wheel chair accessibility.

More tips for your stay:

  • Get the property manager's contact number and entry/exit procedures for your rental. Store the manager's information in your smartphone and wallet.
  • Ask questions. You may want instructions for a garage door opener, elevator or appliance. Contact your host. They are there to help! A brief telephone call prevents lots of issues.
  • Keep your rental home locked while you're away! Don't let burglars spoil your vacation.
  • At Check-in, make note of any damages to the property and immediately alert the owner. Record all correspondence just in case a dispute arises.
  • Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking rules can make a stay significantly more pleasurable. Be a good neighbor. You'll magnify your chance to make some new local friends, and resident neighbors can be a terrific source for finding the best local spots.
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Local residents can frequently help. Who better to ask where to launch your kayaks, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for BBQ?
  • At departure, complete a final walk-through to confirm you didn't leave anything behind. Remember to check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden items. Clean out the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Inspect the rental one final time and scan for damage. We recommend walking through with the host whenever you can. If the property manager isn't available, remember to take video and pictures of the rental to record its condition.
  • Did your group have a terrific vacation? Many rental management companies make it easy for vacationers to provide comments. If your rental and/or property manager was great, they always love to hear your praise. If anything was amiss and they failed to address it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make it a point as part of your comments.
