Fripp Island rental property booking tips:

How to get the best rental home value:

  • Summer months are high season in Fripp Island. To get the best value, consider changing your group's vacation week to the Spring or Fall seasons. May, September, and October offer excellent weather, , and reduced traffic.
  • Book your vacation home as soon as possible. Rental schedules generally become available 12 months in advance (or in September just after the Summer season ends). Many families reserve their Summer vacations during holiday gatherings. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
  • Some property managers offer discounts or promotional rates for veterans and active duty military. Make sure to check with your host or property manager to see if special offers are available for your group before you book.
  • Booking websites often offer guests an option to obtain vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which will generally cost anywhere between 1% - 5% of the booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed vacation time as a result of personal medical-related issues or weather, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation costs or charges, such as an unexpected hotel or extra fuel expenses. Trip insurance can be a a life-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your host for additional information.
  • Look for your local visitors guide upon arrival. If your rental home doesn't have one, you can find them at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers. In addition to great local stories, travel guide magazines contain deals for local restaurants, attractions, and tours.

Filter your search:

  • Select a designated group leader, choose your dates, and select a max budget.
  • Decide how many bedrooms and the configuration your family needs. New to VRBO! Resort Access Included! Under Renovation for 2024 Stays! has 4 bedrooms and 4 bathrooms.
  • Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is generally available online. If they are not listed, email or call the host before reserving the vacation property. Remember that most listings specify maximum guest capacity, which usually includes pull-out couches and bunk beds.
  • Are you looking for specific amenities? Most rental search websites include search filters with amenity lists. Filtering by amenity will allow you to quickly find the perfect rental home.
  • Proper accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for guests with disabilities. Make certain to ask about specialized equipment and wheel chair accessibility.
  • If your group is traveling with pets, you must reserve a property that allows animals. Request specifics on breed, size, and type restrictions. Some property managers charge additional pet fees.

Considerations for your stay:

  • Add the host's information to your smartphone. Print and take a copy of arrival/departure procedures.
  • Note any damages to the property upon arrival, and immediately send them to the property manager. We especially recommend texts and e-mails, as they usually contain built-in time stamps that can be helpful if damages are attributed to your stay.
  • Ask questions. You may need instructions for a garage door opener, stereo or washer/dryer. Contact your property manager. They are there to help! A brief call prevents quite a few issues.
  • Respecting quiet hours and parking regulations can make a stay significantly more pleasurable. You'll enhance your chance to make some new local friends, and resident neighbors can be a fantastic source for finding the best local scenic spots.
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local! Neighbors can often help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to spend a rainy day, have a great night out, or the best spots for BBQ?
  • Lock your rental home while you are out. Protect the owner's property and your stuff!
  • Re-check the rental property to confirm that you've packed all of your belongings at check-out. Re-check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden belongings. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Please make sure to walk through the property a final time and scan for any damage. We advise walking through with the host whenever you can. If the property manager is not available, ensure that you take video of the rental to record its condition.
  • Leave a review! Hosts rely on great feedback to compel more reservations. They'll be thankful for your review. Alternatively, if something went wrong, other families will will be grateful for your review and help them have the best future vacation. Remember to be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the owner could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded reasonably to remedy it.
