How to book the best vacation rental experience:
Getting the most from your spending budget:
- Summer is the most expensive season in Fripp Island. To get the largest rental within budget, we strongly suggest booking in Fall or Spring months. You'll benefit from lower rental rates, greater selection, warm weather and the absence of large crowds at popular attractions and restaurants. Many vacationers use this method to reserve larger homes, or to reserve an oceanfront vacation rental that would otherwise be unaffordable during the Summer.
- Book your vacation home as early as possible. Rental schedules usually open a year in advance (or in September just after Summertime ends). Many families book their Summer vacation rentals during holiday gatherings. Book before these holidays for best selection.
- Owners sometimes offer discounts or promotional rates for active duty military and veterans. It's always a good idea to check with your property manager to see if discounts are available for your group.
- Property managers usually offer renters an option to obtain trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which usually will cost you 1% - 5% of the base stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed trip time as a result of personal medical-related issues or weather, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation costs, such as an unexpected hotel or additional gasoline expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a life-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for specifics.
- Often, rental management companies supply Beaufort, SC area visitor guides which often include special deals, either offered independently by local businesses, or through a relationship between the management company and the business itself. You can also find visitors guide and coupon books at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers.
Use filters to narrow your rental search:
- Select your vacation week and budget.
- Note the number beds and what type of bedroom configuration you need. Waterfront Property with Million Dollar Sunset Views!! has 3 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms.
- Specific information about bedrooms and bed types is almost always available on booking pages. Otherwise, reach out to the host before booking the home. Note that most properties list maximum guest capacity, which oftentimes includes sofa beds. You will need to determine what configuration is suitable for your vacation group.
- If there's a particular Beaufort, SC beach you are enamored with, look for homes that are either close by, or those that cater especially to your requirements.
- Suitable accessibility can make or break a vacation for those with limited mobility. Remember to confirm all necessary amenities are available before reserving a rental
- If your family is bringing pets, you'll need to book a pet-friendly vacation rental. Make sure to ask for information on breed, weight, and type requirements. Note that some hosts require additional pet deposits and fees.
Advice for a fantastic stay:
- Take a copy of the property manager's contact number and check in/check out procedures for your rental.
- Upon check-in, document any issues with the property and immediately alert the host. Keep records of all correspondence just in case a dispute arises.
- Hosts are there to help! Feel free to ask any questions during your stay.
- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like disagreeable vacationers disrupting your peaceful neighborhood. Practice the golden rule for common sense. If they like you, locals might even recommend great local food and attractions you would've not otherwise known about!
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Locals can usually help. Who better to ask where to see a beautiful sunrise or sunset, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for bird watching?
- Lock your rental property while you are away! Don't let crooks spoil your family vacation.
- Don't leave anything behind! Just before departing, take a walk through the rental to confirm you've collected all personal belongings. Remember to check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden belongings. Clean the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Inspect the property one final time and scan for damages to contents or the property itself. We recommend walking through with the property manager whenever you can. If the manager is not available, remember to take video of the rental to record its condition.
- Did you have a great time? Many rental home management companies make it easy for travelers to provide comments. If your rental and/or property management company was great, they would love to hear it. If anything was wrong and they failed to address it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make a note as part of your review.
