Strategies for getting the perfect Fripp Island vacation rental experience:

Finding your perfect vacation home:

  • Book your vacation home as early as possible. Rental schedules usually open twelve months in advance (or in September just after Summertime ends). Many families reserve their Summer vacation rentals during Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years Eve gatherings. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
  • Book your Beaufort, SC rental home in Fall or Spring months to enjoy beautiful weather while saving money and avoiding crowded roads, restaurants, and activities. Many vacationers use this method to find larger homes within budget, or to book an oceanfront vacation rental that would otherwise be unaffordable during the Summer. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Beaufort, SC vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday on the coast? Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years are great times to gather with loved ones at your favorite beach.
  • Property managers sometimes offer promotional rates for veterans. Make sure to check with your host or property manager to see if rate reductions are available for your family before you book.
  • Property managers typically offer customers an option to purchase vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which usually will cost you anywhere between 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed vacation time as a result of medical-related catastrophes or weather, as well as hurricane evacuation costs, such as an unexpected hotel overnight or extra gas expenses. Trip insurance might be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask your host for details.
  • Find a copy of your local Beaufort, SC visitors guide magazine upon arrival. If your rental property doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers. In addition to great articles, visitor guides contain offers and deals for nearby accommodations and attractions.

Choosing the best rental in the Beaufort, SC area:

  • Select a group leader, choose your vacation dates, and select a spending budget.
  • Determine how many beds and what type of bedroom configuration your group requires. 713 Winter Trout - New to VRBO! Resort Access Included! has 7 bedrooms and 4 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our vacation rental search.
  • Precise information about bedrooms and bed types is generally accessible on booking websites. Otherwise, email the property manager before you reserve the vacation home. Remember that most property listings specify maximum guest capacity, which often includes pull out couches in living rooms.
  • Do your family pets travel with you? Although a number of vacation homes allow pets or animals, guidelines and costs vary per property. Allowable pet type, breed, and size are often limited. Ask your host before booking, and study your rental agreement! Additional pet fees or might be applied to your contract.
  • Are you visiting for a specific attraction? Use a map search to browse nearby properties.
  • Proper accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for the less-mobile. Confirm all necessary amenities are available before booking.

More considerations:

  • Take a copy of the owner's phone number and arrival/departure procedures for your rental property. Put the host's information in your smartphone.
  • Ask questions. You may want instructions for a fireplace, stereo or thermostat. Contact your host. They are there to help! A brief telephone call can prevent quite a few difficulties.
  • Ensure you protect the rental owner (and your things!) by keeping the rental locked up when you are out, just like you would back home.
  • Document any issues with the property during check in, and immediately contact the property manager. We especially recommend texts and e-mails, as they usually contain built-in time stamps that can be helpful if damages are assessed.
  • Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like disrespectful visitors disrupting your peaceful home. Apply the golden rule for common sense. Happy residents may even recommend great restaurants and attractions you would've not otherwise known about!
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Locals can frequently point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to order delicious takeout, have a great night out, or the best spots for BBQ?
  • Re-check every room of the property to make sure that you've packed all belongings on check-out day. Check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden treasure. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Record a video to document the condition of the property.
  • After your trip, leave a review! Hosts rely on great ratings to stimulate future reservations. They'll be thankful for your review. Alternatively, if something wasn't as described, other vacationing families will be thankful you shared your feedback find their best vacation home. Please be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the host had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded quickly to solve it.
