Tips to get the best Port Royal vacation home experience:

Sticking to your spending budget:

  • Booking your vacation home in the Fall or Spring is a good way to save money on your rental home. Rates are lower, and you'll find a better selection of acceptable properties.
  • The sooner your group can book a vacation rental, the easier your search will be. The most desirable rental properties are reserved very early. Booking your vacation property up to twelve months before your vacation dates is recommended. Holiday gatherings are excellent times to plan and reserve your rental home.
  • Veterans and Active Duty Military members may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property owner whether your group qualifies for a price reduction.
  • Management companies and individual rental owners often offer renters an option to obtain trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which normally costs anywhere between 1% - 5% of the base booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed trip time as a result of medical-related issues or weather disasters, as well as hurricane evacuation costs or charges, such as an unexpected hotel overnight or additional gasoline expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a welcome relief if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your host for details.
  • Find a copy of your local visitors guide when you arrive at the rental property. If your rental home doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers. In addition to great articles, visitor guides have deals for nearby restaurants, attractions, and tours.

Use filters to narrow your rental search:

  • Choose your dates and spending budget.
  • Note the number beds and the configuration your group requires. Heart of Port Royal\/minutes to Sands Beach\/Parris Island and Historic Beaufort has 2 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our rentals search.
  • Precise information regarding bedrooms and bed types is often accessible online. Otherwise, email the host before reserving the rental. Remember that most property listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which frequently includes pull-out couches and bunk beds.
  • Are you looking for unique amenities? Most websites include amenity lists and search filters.
  • Proper accessibility can make or break a vacation for persons with a disability. Confirm all necessary amenities are available and included before reserving a rental.
  • If your family is traveling with pets, you'll need to search for a rental that allows animals. Ask for specifics on breed, size, and type restrictions. Some property owners require additional pet deposits and fees.

More considerations for your visit:

  • Review check in & check out procedures before leaving home. Take a printed copy, and add a note with the directions to your phone.
  • Upon arrival, record any damages to the property and immediately alert the property manager. Keep records of all correspondence in case a dispute arises.
  • Property managers are available to help! Don't be shy to ask any questions during your stay.
  • Respecting quiet hours and parking rules can make a stay significantly more pleasurable. You'll enhance your chance to make local friends, and resident neighbors are often an excellent resource to find the best local scenic spots.
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Local residents can often help. Who better to ask where to find the best seashells, have a great night out, or the best spots for fishing?
  • Ensure you protect the owner (and your stuff!) by keeping the rental locked up while you are gone, just like you would back home.
  • Re-check the rental property to confirm that you've packed everything at check-out. Re-check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden items. Clean the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Please make sure to walk through the property a final time and keep an eye out for any damage. We advise walking through with the property manager whenever you can. If the property manager isn't available, take video of the property to record its condition at check-out.
  • After your trip, leave feedback! Property owners rely on great reviews to drive more bookings. They'll be much obliged for your review. Alternatively, if something went wrong, other families will be thankful you shared your feedback and help them have the best future vacation. Remember to be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the property manager had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded quickly to solve it.
