Finding the best Fripp Island vacation rental experience:

Get the most from your rental home budget:

  • Book your vacation home as early as possible. Rental schedules usually become available twelve months in advance (or in September just after Summer ends). Many groups reserve their Summer rentals during Thanksgiving and Christmas get-togethers. Book before these holidays for best selection.
  • June, July, and August are the most expensive months in coastal SC. Book your rental home in Fall or Spring months to enjoy gorgeous weather while saving money and avoiding crowds. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Beaufort, SC vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation on the coast? Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years are great times to gather with friends and family at the beach.
  • Veterans and Active Duty Military members may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective vacation rental company or host if your vacationing group qualifies for a discount.
  • Property managers frequently offer guests an option to purchase vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which usually will cost between 1% - 5% of the base stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed days as a result of medical-related catastrophes or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional evacuation charges, such as an unexpected hotel or extra gas expenses. Trip insurance might be a a life-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for details.
  • Find a copy of your local Beaufort, SC visitors guide magazine when you check-in. If your rental doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local shops and fuel stations. In addition to great information, visitor guide magazines have deals for nearby accommodations, restaurants and tours.

Finding the perfect vacation home:

  • Choose a group leader, select your dates, and choose a max budget.
  • Note the number beds and the bed configuration your family requires. Includes golf cart & resort access. July 5-12 4/nt min/possibly 3 Ask-SeeReviews has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our rental home search.
  • Precise details about bedrooms and bed counts & types is normally available on booking websites. If they are not listed, email the property management company before reserving the vacation property. Remember that most property listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which oftentimes includes sofa beds and bunks. You'll need to establish what configuration is right for your vacation.
  • If your group is vacationing with pets, you'll need to find a rental that allows animals. Ask for information on breed, weight, and type requirements. Be aware that some property managers charge pet deposits and fees.
  • Are you visiting for a specific event? If so, use a map search to browse nearby properties.
  • Appropriate accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for persons with a disability. Confirm all required amenities are available before booking

During your stay:

  • Add the owner's contact info to your phone. Take a copy of check in/check out procedures.
  • Hosts are great sources of help! Feel free to ask questions before, during, or after your stay.
  • Lock your rental while you're away. Protect the owner's property and your things!
  • To make sure damages aren't attributed to your family's stay, make note of any problem areas upon check in. E-mail the host immediately to document your findings. If there is a dispute about who is responsible, having the recorded issues and contact attempts will be useful.
  • Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like disagreeable vacationers bothering your quiet neighborhood. Use the golden rule for common sense. If they like you, locals might even recommend great beaches and scenic spots you would've not otherwise known!
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local! Neighbors can usually point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to get the best seafood, have a great night out, or the best spots for crabbing?
  • At departure, complete a final walk-through to confirm you didn't forget any personal items. Check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden items. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Record a video to document the condition of the property.
  • Did you have a terrific time? Many rental management companies make it easy for clients to provide comments. If your rental property and/or property manager was terrific, they would love to hear it. If anything was out of order and they failed to correct it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make it a point as part of your feedback.
