Vacation rental home tips:

How to get the best rental home value:

  • Reserve your rental as early as possible. Rental schedules often become available twelve months in advance (or in September just after Summertime ends). Many families reserve their Summer rental homes during Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years Eve gatherings. Book before these holidays for best selection.
  • Summer is the most expensive season in Fripp Island. To get the best value, try shifting your trip dates to the Spring or Fall seasons. May, September, and October offer excellent temperatures, less crowded beaches, and reduced traffic.
  • Some hosts offer discounts for veterans and active duty military. Make sure to check with your property manager to see if discounts are available for your group.
  • Property management companies usually offer their guests an option to buy vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which commonly costs between 1% - 5% of the booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any days missed as a result of personal medical-related catastrophes or weather, as well as evacuation costs, such as an unanticipated hotel or extra gasoline expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a bank account-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your property manager for specifics.
  • Find a copy of your local Beaufort, SC visitors guide upon arrival. If your rental doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local grocery stores and visitor centers. In addition to great information, travel guides have offers and deals for nearby shops and restaurants.

How to pick the perfect vacation home in Fripp Island:

  • Choose a designated group leader, choose your vacation dates, and choose a max budget.
  • Note the number bedrooms and what type of bedroom configuration you need. 171 Beach Club Villa - First Floor Condo - Marsh & Canal Views has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our rentals search.
  • Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts & types is normally available on booking pages. If they are not listed, contact the property management company before you reserve the home. Note that most listings specify the max. guest capacity, which often includes pull out couches in living rooms. You will need to establish what configuration is optimal for your vacation group.
  • If your group is bringing pets, you'll need to search for a pet-friendly vacation rental. Ask for information on breed, weight, and type requirements. Some hosts charge additional pet fees.
  • Does your family require special amenities? Most websites include search filters with amenity lists. Amenity filters help you quickly remove less-optimal properties.
  • Suitable accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for guests that require the use of a wheelchair. Make certain to inquire about wheel chair entry, pool lifts and specialized equipment needs.

Considerations for your stay:

  • Review check in & check out procedures before traveling. Take a printed copy, and save the directions to your smartphone.
  • Ask questions. You may want instructions for a hot tub, A/V setup or washer/dryer. Contact your owner. They are there to help! A brief text message can prevent many issues.
  • Keep the property locked while you're gone! Don't let thieves ruin your family vacation.
  • Upon check-in, record any issues with the rental property and immediately alert the owner. Record all correspondence in case a dispute arises.
  • Respect your neighbors. Often, surrounding homes are filled by local residents. Respecting noise limits and parking rules is the right thing to do.
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Neighbors can usually help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to go for the best drinks, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for BBQ?
  • When it's time to leave, take a walk-through to confirm you have not forget any personal items. Remember to check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden treasure. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Inspect the property a final time and keep an eye out for any damage. We advise walking through with the property manager whenever you can. If the property manager is not available, ensure that you take photographs of the rental to record its condition at check-out.
  • Remember to leave a review! Property managers rely on excellent reviews to inspire future reservations. They'll be grateful for your feedback. Alternatively, if something went wrong, other families will appreciate that you share your review and help them have the best future vacation. Be fair with your review. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the manager could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded quickly to fix it.
