Strategies for getting the perfect vacation home experience:
Find your perfect rental:
- The sooner your group can book, the better your selection will be. The most desirable vacation rentals are booked very early. Reserving your rental property 6-12 months before your vacation is recommended. Holidays such as Christmas and Thanksgiving are excellent times to search for and reserve your rental home.
- Summer time is high season in the Beaufort, SC area. Booking your Beaufort, SC vacation home in Fall or Spring months is one of our best tips for saving money on your rental home. Rental rates are lower, and you'll find a better selection of desirable homes. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Beaufort, SC vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday on the coast? Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years are great times to gather with friends and family at your favorite beach.
- Owners sometimes offer promotional rates for active duty military and veterans. Remember to ask your property manager if special offers are available for your group before you book.
- Property managers usually offer guests an option to buy vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which normally costs between 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed time as a result of medical-related issues or weather disasters, as well as evacuation charges, such as an unanticipated hotel stay or additional gasoline expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a bank account-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your property manager for more information.
- Find a copy of your local Beaufort, SC visitors guide magazine when you arrive at the rental property. If your rental home doesn't have one, you can find them at local grocery stores and visitor centers. In addition to great local stories, visitor guides contain money saving offers on nearby shops and restaurants.
Use filters to search efficiently:
- Begin by choosing potential vacation weeks and a spending budget.
- Decide how many bedrooms and the configuration you need. Stunning Sunrise and Sunset Views, King Suites, and Double Balconies. Premium Golf Cart Included, and Well-Behaved Pets Considered - 861 Bonito Rd has 2 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms.
- Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts is regularly accessible on booking websites. Otherwise, call the property owner before reserving your rental. Note that most properties list the maximum guest capacity, which oftentimes includes pull-out couches. You will need to establish what is suitable for your group.
- Some properties allow pets, and others do not. Acceptable types of family pet, size and breeds may be restricted, and added fees may apply. Ask your host about your furry family members before booking.
- If there's a specific Beaufort, SC destination you simply love, search for rentals that are either close by, or those that cater to your needs.
- Suitable accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for persons with a disability. Make certain to inquire about specialized equipment and wheel chair accessibility.
Additional considerations:
- Add the property manager's information to your phone. Understand and take a copy of arrival/departure procedures.
- Ask questions. You may want instructions for a hot tub, television set or WIFI setup. Contact your owner. They are there to help! A brief call prevents lots of problems.
- Keep your rental home locked while you're out! Don't let burglars spoil your vacation.
- During arrival, note any issues with the property and immediately alert the host. Keep records of all coorespondence.
- Be respectful. Frequently, surrounding homes are occupied by local residents. Respecting late-night noise limits and parking rules reduces conflict and allows everyone to enjoy their day.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Locals can often help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to launch your kayaks, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for crabbing?
- Don't leave anything behind! Just before departing, walk through the rental property to confirm you've collected all of your things. Re-check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden items. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Inspect the property a final time and scan for any damage. We advise walking through with the property manager whenever possible. If the manager isn't available, ensure that you take photos and video of the rental to record its condition at check-out.
- Did your family have a terrific stay? Most rental managers make it easy for clients to provide reviews. If your property and/or property manager was terrific, they always love to hear your praise. If anything was wrong and they failed to fix it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make a note as part of your review.
