Tricks and tips for getting the best Beaufort rental home experience:

Money saving strategies:

  • Summer months are the most expensive season in the Beaufort, SC area. Book your rental property in the Fall or Spring shoulder seasons to get the benefit of warm weather while saving money and avoiding crowds. Many vacationers use this method to reserve larger homes, or to book an oceanfront rental that would otherwise be unaffordable during the Summer.
  • Book your rental as early as possible. Rental schedules generally become available a year in advance (or in September just after the Summer season ends). Many families book their Summer vacation rentals during Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years Eve gatherings. Book before these holidays for best selection.
  • Veterans and Active Duty Military members may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective vacation rental company or host if your group qualifies for a special rate.
  • Property managers often offer their guests an option to add trip insurance. Trip insurance, which generally will cost 1% - 5% of the booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed time as a result of personal medical-related catastrophes or weather, as well as hurricane evacuation costs, such as an unanticipated hotel stay or extra fuel expenses. Trip insurance can be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask the property owner for program terms and fees.
  • Find a copy of your local Beaufort, SC area magazine when you check-in. If your rental property doesn't have one, you can find them at local grocery stores and visitor centers. In addition to great local articles, travel guide magazines contain coupons for nearby restaurants, attractions, and tours.

Narrow your Search:

  • Select a group lead, choose your trip dates, and select a budget.
  • Note the number bedrooms and what type of bedroom configuration your group requires. Tucked Away Newly Renovated 2 Bedroom/ 1 Bath, Sleep 8 has 2 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our rental home search.
  • Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is often accessible online. If not, reach out to the host before reserving your rental. Note that most property listings specify the max. guest capacity, which typically includes pull-out couches and bunk beds. You will need to work out which bed configuration is right for your vacation.
  • Visiting for a single attraction? Use a map search to find nearby rentals.
  • Suitable accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for those with limited mobility. Confirm all required amenities are available and included before booking
  • If your group is vacationing with pets, you'll need to find a pet-friendly rental. Request information on breed, size, and type requirements. Some hosts charge pet deposits and fees.

Some things to know before you go:

  • Put the manager's information in your smartphone and wallet.
  • To make sure that no damages are attributed to your visit, inspect the property for any problem areas upon check in. Speak to the host immediately to document any issues. If there is a dispute about who is responsible, having a record of problems and contact attempts will be useful.
  • Property managers are available to help! Feel free to ask any questions during your stay.
  • Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like troublesome visitors disrupting your home life. Employ the golden rule for common sense. If they like you, locals might even recommend great beaches and places you would have not otherwise known!
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Neighbors can frequently help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to enjoy a steak with a view, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for fine dining?
  • Lock your rental home while you're out. Keep your property safe!
  • Re-check every room of the property to confirm that you've packed all personal items on check-out day. Re-check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden items. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Walk through the property one final time and keep an eye out for any damage. We suggest walking through with the property manager whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the property manager is not available, take pictures of the rental to record its condition at check-out.
  • Did you have a great time? Many vacation rental websites make it easy for customers to provide comments. If your property and/or property management company was great, they would love to hear about it. If anything was defective and they failed to fix it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make a note as part of your review.
