Our top Beaufort, SC vacation rental tips and tricks:
Get the most from your rental home budget:
- Summer time is high season in the Beaufort, SC area. Reserving a rental home in Fall or Spring is a great way to save on your vacation rental. Rates are lower, and you'll find a better selection of desirable homes. Many vacationers use this method to find larger homes within budget, or to reserve an oceanfront vacation rental that would otherwise be unavailable or unaffordable during the Summer.
- The sooner you can book a rental home, the easier your search will be. The most desirable properties are reserved early. Booking your vacation home up to twelve months before your vacation dates is recommended. Winter holidays are excellent times to plan and reserve your vacation home.
- Veterans and Active Duty Military members may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property owner whether your group qualifies for a special promotion or discount.
- Property management companies typically offer customers an option to obtain trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which will generally cost between 1% - 5% of the reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed days as a result of medical-related catastrophes or weather, as well as hurricane evacuation charges, such as an unanticipated hotel or additional gasoline expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a bank account-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for specifics.
- Many management companies and vacation rental houses supply Beaufort, SC area travel guide magazines that include special offers, either offered directly by local businesses, or by way of a relationship with the rental management company and the business itself. You can also find Beaufort, SC visitors guide and coupon books at local shops and grocery stores.
Make a plan and pick the perfect Beaufort, SC rental:
- Select your vacation week and maximum budget.
- Determine how many bedrooms and the bed configuration your family needs. YOUR SOCIAL DISTANCING SANCTUARY IN HISTORIC BEAUFORT has 2 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our Beaufort, SC rental home search.
- Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts & types is usually available on booking websites. If not, reach out to the host before you reserve the vacation property. Note that most properties list the maximum guest capacity, which typically includes sofa beds in living rooms. You'll need to work out what configuration is best for your group.
- Does your group require particular amenities? Most rental websites include search filters for amenities. Amenity filters help you quickly remove less-optimal properties.
- Appropriate accessibility can make or break a vacation for guests that require the use of a wheelchair. Confirm all necessary amenities are included before booking.
- If your family is bringing pets, you'll need to find a pet-friendly rental. Ask for details on breed, weight, and type requirements. Usually, hosts require additional pet deposits and fees.
More considerations for your visit:
- Take a copy of the property manager's contact number and arrival/departure procedures for your rental property. We recommend storing the manager's information in your smartphone.
- Upon check-in, record any issues with the property and immediately alert the host. Record all correspondence just in case a dispute arises.
- Ask questions. You may need instructions for a fireplace, stereo or thermostat. Contact your owner. They are there to help! A brief call can prevent quite a few concerns.
- Respect your neighbors. Often times, adjacent homes are filled by permanent residents. Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking regulations reduces conflict and allows everyone to enjoy their day.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Locals can usually help. Who better to ask where to see a beautiful sunrise or sunset, have a great night out, or the best spots for bird watching?
- Protect the property owner (and your stuff!) by locking the rental while you are away, just like you would at home.
- Re-check the property to make sure that you've packed all belongings at check-out. Remember to check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden items. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Inspect the rental a final time and look for any damage. We recommend walking through with the host whenever you can. If the host isn't available, take photographs of the rental to record its condition.
- After your trip, leave a review! Hosts rely on excellent feedback to propel more bookings. They'll be thankful for your review. Alternatively, if something wasn't right, other vacationers will will be grateful for your experience and help them have the best future vacation. Please be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the property manager had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded quickly to remedy it.
