Our top Rental home booking tips:
Finding your perfect rental home:
- The earlier your group can book a vacation rental, the easier your search will be. The best vacation homes are reserved early. Reserving your vacation property up to 12 months before your vacation is recommended. Holiday gatherings are excellent times to search for and reserve your rental.
- Summertime is the most expensive season in the Beaufort, SC area. Reserve your Beaufort, SC vacation in the Spring or Fall to enjoy warm weather while saving money and avoiding crowds.
- Some hosts and property managers offer rate reductions for veterans. Check with your property manager to see if rate reductions are available for your group before you book.
- Management companies and individual rental owners usually offer renters an option to purchase trip insurance. Trip insurance, which commonly will cost anywhere between 1% - 5% of the booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed vacation time as a result of medical-related catastrophes or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation charges, such as an unanticipated hotel overnight or extra fuel expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask your property manager for more information.
- Often, property management companies supply Beaufort, SC area visitors guides which often include coupons, either offered directly by local businesses, or by way of a relationship between the property management company and the business itself. You can also find Beaufort, SC visitors guide magazine and coupon books at local gas stations and shopping centers.
Use filters to search efficiently:
- Start by choosing a vacation week and a spending budget.
- Determine how many beds and the configuration you need. Marsh View Treehouse Retreat on Fripp Island has 2 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our search.
- Specific information about bedrooms and bed counts is usually accessible on booking websites. If you don't see them listed, email or call the property management company before booking the vacation property. Note that most properties list the maximum guest capacity, which frequently includes sofa beds. You'll need to determine what is suitable for your vacation.
- Do your family pets travel with you? Although a number of vacation homes allow pets or animals, guidelines and costs vary per property. Type of pet, size and breeds may be limited. Make sure to ask before booking, and study your rental agreement! Additional fees or costs applied to your contract.
- If there's a specific Beaufort, SC attraction you crave, search for properties that are either close by, or those that cater to your needs.
- Appropriate accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for persons with a disability. Confirm all required amenities are available before reserving a rental
More tips for your stay:
- Get the owner's phone number and entry/exit procedures for your rental. We recommend storing the host's information in your smartphone.
- Hosts are there to help! Feel free to ask questions during your stay.
- Lock your rental property while you're away! Don't let burglars ruin your family vacation.
- Note any issues with the property during check in, and immediately e-mail them to the owner. We especially recommend texts and e-mails, as they usually contain time stamps that are useful if damages are assessed.
- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like unpleasant visitors disrupting your home life. Employ the golden rule for best judgement. Happy residents may even recommend great local food and attractions you would have never otherwise known!
- Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Locals can frequently help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to find the best bike paths, have a great night out, or the best spots for crabbing?
- Double-check the rental property to confirm that you've packed all of your belongings at check-out. Check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden items. Clean the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
- Did you have a terrific stay? Most rental management companies make it easy for travelers to provide comments. If your rental property and/or property management company was terrific, they would love to hear about it. If anything was inoperable and they failed to fix it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make a note as part of your review.
