How to get the best rental experience:
How to get the best rental home value:
- In the Beaufort, SC area, The earlier your group can reserve a vacation home, the easier your search will be. The best vacation homes are reserved early. Reserving your rental six to twelve months before your vacation is recommended. Winter holidays are excellent times to plan and reserve your vacation rental.
- Summer months are high season in Fripp Island. To find the best value, consider shifting your vacation to the Spring or Fall shoulder seasons. May, September, and October offer warmer temperatures, fewer crowds, and greatly reduced traffic. Many vacationers use this method to reserve larger homes, or to book an oceanfront rental that would otherwise be unavailable or unaffordable during June, July, and August.
- Some hosts and property managers offer special rates for active duty military and veterans. Ask your host or property manager if special offers are available for your family before you book.
- Property management companies typically offer guests an option to purchase trip insurance. Trip insurance, which normally will cost you between 1% - 5% of the reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed trip time as a result of personal medical-related issues or weather disasters, as well as evacuation costs or charges, such as an unanticipated hotel or extra gas expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask your property manager for specifics.
- Often, management companies and vacation rental houses supply Beaufort, SC area travel guide magazines which often include money-saving offers, either offered directly by local businesses, or by way of a partnership between the rental management company and the business itself. You can also find Beaufort, SC visitors guide magazine and coupon books at local shops and grocery stores.
Finding the perfect vacation rental in Fripp Island:
- Begin by choosing trip dates and a budget.
- Determine how many bedrooms and the bed configuration your family requires. Beachfront Home, Pet Friendly, Golf Cart Included, Overlooking the Atlantic, 706 Red Drum has 4 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms.
- Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is regularly accessible on booking websites. Otherwise, reach out to the host before booking the vacation home. Remember that most listings specify maximum guest capacity, which typically includes sofa beds in living rooms.
- Traveling with pets? Many vacation homes allow animals, but guidelines and restrictions apply. Allowable pet type, breed, and size are often limited. Remember to ask the property manager before booking, and study your agreement! Extra fees or costs might be applied to your agreement.
- Visiting for a single event or attraction? If so, use a map search to find nearby properties.
- Appropriate accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for persons with disabilities. Make certain to ask about specialized equipment and wheel chair accessibility.
During your stay:
- Review arrival and departure procedures before traveling. Add a note with the directions to your phone, and take a printed copy.
- Property managers are great sources of help! Don't be shy to ask questions during your stay.
- Ensure you protect the owner (and your things!) by locking the property while you are out, just like you would at home.
- Upon arrival, make note of any issues with the property and immediately contact the host. Keep records of all coorespondence.
- Be respectful of your neighbors. Frequently, surrounding homes are occupied by local residents. Respecting late-night noise limits and parking regulations is the right thing to do.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Residents can frequently help. Who better to ask where to find the best bike paths, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for bird watching?
- Don't leave anything behind! Before departing, take a walk through the rental property to reconfirm you've collected all personal items. Make sure to check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden items. Clean the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Go through the property a final time and keep an eye out for damage. We suggest walking through with the property manager whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the property manager is not available, take video and pictures of the property to record its condition.
- Did your group have a great vacation? Most rental websites make it easy for clients to provide feedback. If your rental and/or property manager was terrific, they always love to hear your praise. If anything was inoperable and they failed to address it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make a note as part of your comments.
