Strategies to get the optimal vacation property experience:

Find your perfect vacation home:

  • June, July, and August are the most expensive months in coastal SC. To get the best value, try shifting your family's Beaufort, SC trip dates to the Spring or Fall months. May, September, and October offer warm temperatures, less crowded beaches, and greatly reduced traffic.
  • Reserve your rental as soon as possible. Rental schedules usually open twelve months in advance (or in September just after Summer ends). Many families reserve their Summer vacations during Christmas and Thanksgiving gatherings. Book before these holidays for best selection.
  • Some owners offer discounts for active duty military and veterans. Make sure to check with your property manager to see if rate reductions are available for your family before you book.
  • Property managers typically offer their guests an option to add trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which costs 1% - 5% of the base booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed vacation time as a result of personal medical-related issues or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation costs, such as an unanticipated hotel stay or extra gas expenses. Trip insurance might be a a life-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for program terms and fees.
  • Many management companies and vacation rental houses supply Beaufort, SC area travel guide magazines which will include special deals, either offered independently by local companies, or by way of a relationship between the management company and the business itself. You can also find Beaufort, SC area magazine and coupon books at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers.

How to choose and book the bestrental home:

  • To start, have your group choose a vacation week and a spending budget.
  • Determine how many beds and what type of bedroom configuration your family needs. 1 Periwinkle Ct - New to VRBO! Resort Access Included! has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
  • Specific information regarding bedrooms and bed counts is often accessible on booking websites. If you don't see them listed, email the property manager before booking the vacation home. Note that most property listings specify maximum guest capacity, which often includes pull-out couches and bunk beds. You will need to work out what is optimal for your vacation.
  • Looking for special amenities? Most rental search websites include search filters for amenities.
  • Appropriate accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for persons with disabilities. Confirm all required amenities are included before booking.
  • If your group is bringing pets, you must reserve a rental that allows animals. Request specifics on breed, size, and type requirements. Often, property owners require additional pet deposits and fees.

Tips for a smooth stay:

  • Add the property manager's phone number to your smartphone. Take a copy of arrival/departure procedures.
  • Upon check-in, make note of any damages to the rental property and immediately alert the owner. Record all correspondence in case a dispute arises.
  • Ask questions. You may need instructions for a hot tub, elevator or kitchen appliance. Contact your owner. They are there to help! A brief telephone call prevents quite a few concerns.
  • Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking rules can make a stay more pleasurable. Be a good neighbor. You will enhance your chance to make local friends, and resident neighbors are often an incredible source for finding the best local beaches and restaurants.
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Local residents can usually help. Who better to ask where to charter a fishing boat, have a great night out, or the best spots for fine dining?
  • Keep the property locked while you're out! Don't let crooks spoil your trip.
  • Don't leave anything behind! Just before you drive away, take a walk through the rental property to reconfirm you've collected everything. Check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden treasure. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Record a video to document the condition of the property.
  • Did your family have a great vacation? Most rental managers make it easy for travelers to provide comments. If your rental property and/or property management company was great, they would love to hear about it. If anything was inoperable and they failed to fix it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make a note as part of your feedback.
