How to find the best vacation home experience:

Finding your best deal:

  • June, July, and August are the most expensive months in Beaufort. To find the best value, consider shifting your trip dates to the Spring or Fall months. May, September, and October offer warmer weather, , and greatly reduced traffic. Many vacationers use this strategy to reserve larger homes, or to book a beach front rental that would otherwise be unavailable during the Summer months.
  • In the Beaufort, SC area, The sooner you can book, the better your selection will be. The most desirable vacation rentals are booked very early. Booking your vacation home 6-12 months before your vacation is recommended. Winter holidays are excellent times to search for and reserve your rental property.
  • Property management companies sometimes offer discounts for veterans. Ask your property manager if rate reductions are available for your group.
  • Booking websites often offer guests an option to add trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which normally costs 1% - 5% of the booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any days missed as a result of medical-related catastrophes or weather, as well as hurricane evacuation costs or charges, such as an unexpected hotel stay or extra gas expenses. Trip insurance might be a a life-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your host for additional information.
  • Find a copy of your local visitors guide upon arrival. If your rental home doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local shops and fuel stations. In addition to great information, travel guide magazines have offers and deals for nearby tours and attractions.

Finding the perfect vacation home:

  • Select a group lead, choose your dates, and select a budget.
  • Note the number beds and what type of bedroom configuration your group requires. Charming Coastal Casa on Beaufort's Battery Creek has 1 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms.
  • Specific information regarding bedrooms and bed types is almost always available on booking pages. Otherwise, reach out to the property owner before you book the vacation property. Note that most properties list the maximum guest capacity, which usually includes pull out couches in living rooms.
  • If there's a specific Beaufort, SC destination you long to visit, keep an eye out for homes that are either nearby, or those that cater to your requirements.
  • Proper accessibility can make or break a vacation for guests with disabilities. Remember to confirm all required amenities are available before reserving a rental
  • If your group is traveling with pets, filter your search for a property that allows animals. Request specifics on breed, weight, and type restrictions. Be aware that some property managers require additional pet deposits and fees.

More considerations:

  • Take a copy of the host's contact number and entry/exit procedures for your rental property. Put the host's contact information in your smartphone.
  • During check-in, record any damages to the rental property and immediately alert the host. Record all coorespondence.
  • Property managers are available to help! Feel free to ask questions during your stay.
  • Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking regulations can make a stay more pleasurable. Be a good neighbor. You will enhance your chance to make local friends, and resident neighbors are usually a great source for finding the best local beaches and restaurants.
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Neighbors can frequently point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to find the fresh catch of the day, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for bird watching?
  • Protect the rental owner (and your stuff!) by locking and securing the home while you are away, just like you would at home.
  • At departure, take a final walk-through to make sure you didn't forget anything. Re-check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden treasure. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
  • Leave a review! Property managers rely on excellent reviews to stimulate future reservations. They'll be grateful for your review. Alternatively, if something wasn't as described, other families will appreciate that you share your feedback and help them have the best future vacation. Be fair with your review. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the owner could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded expeditiously to remedy it.
