Tricks and tips for getting the perfect rental home experience:

Sticking to your spending plan:

  • Book your vacation rental as soon as possible. Rental schedules often open 12 months in advance (or in September just after Summer ends). Many families reserve their Summer vacations during Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years Eve gatherings. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
  • Summertime is high season in Beaufort. Reserving a rental home in the Fall or Spring shoulder seasons is our best tip for saving money on your vacation rental. Rental rates are lower, and you'll find a larger selection of desirable homes. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Beaufort, SC vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday on the coast? Thanksgiving and Christmas are great times to gather with family and friends at your favorite beach.
  • Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective vacation rental company or host whether your family qualifies for a special rate.
  • Booking websites usually offer customers an option to add trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which normally costs 1% - 5% of the booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any days missed as a result of personal medical-related catastrophes or weather, as well as ensuing additional evacuation charges, such as an unexpected hotel overnight or additional fuel expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a bank account-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your property manager for details.
  • Find a copy of your local Beaufort, SC area magazine upon arrival. If your rental home doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers. In addition to great local articles, travel guide magazines have offers and deals for nearby attractions, tours, restaurants, and shops.

Filter your search:

  • Start by choosing vacation dates and a budget.
  • Determine how many bedrooms and what type of bedroom configuration your family needs. Perfect In Historic Downtown Beaufort + Discounts & Bikes. GREAT Reviews, (A+)! has 1 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our Beaufort, SC vacation rental search.
  • Specific details about bedrooms and bed types is almost always available on booking websites. If they are not listed, email the property owner before reserving the home. Remember that most property listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which usually includes pull-out couches.
  • If your family is bringing pets, you must reserve a rental that allows animals. Make sure to ask for information on breed, size, and type requirements. Be aware that some property managers charge pet deposits and fees.
  • Visiting for a specific attraction or event? Use a map search to browse nearby rentals.
  • Suitable accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for guests that require the use of a wheelchair. Remember to confirm all necessary amenities are available and included before reserving a rental

More tips for your stay:

  • Put the host's contact information in your smartphone.
  • Ask questions. You may want instructions for a garage door opener, intercom or washer/dryer. Contact your property manager. They are there to help! A brief text message prevents many problems.
  • Ensure you protect the rental owner (and your stuff!) by locking the rental when you are away, just like you would back home.
  • Upon check-in, make note of any damages to the rental property and immediately contact the property manager. Keep records of all coorespondence.
  • Respect your neighbors. Frequently, nearby homes are filled by local residents. Respecting noise limits and parking regulations can make a stay significantly more pleasurable.
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Residents can typically help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to find the best bike paths, have a great night out, or the best spots for crabbing?
  • Don't leave anything behind! Just before departing, walk through the rental to make sure you've collected all belongings. Remember to check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden treasure. Clean out the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Please make sure to walk through the property one final time and look for damages to contents or the property itself. We recommend inspecting the property with the host whenever you can. If the property manager is not available, remember to take video of the property to record its condition at check-out.
  • Did your family have a great stay? Most vacation rental websites make it easy for vacationers to provide reviews. If your rental and/or host was fantastic, they would love to hear it. If anything was amiss and they failed to correct it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make a note as part of your feedback.
