Tips and Tricks to get the optimal Beaufort, SC rental experience:
Cost saving strategies:
- In the Beaufort, SC area, The sooner your group can book a rental home, the better your selection will be. The most desirable rental homes are reserved early. Booking your vacation property 6-12 months before your vacation is recommended. Holidays such as Christmas and Thanksgiving are excellent times to plan and book your rental home.
- Summer is the most expensive season along the coast of SC. To find the largest rental home within budget, we suggest reserving in the Fall or Spring shoulder seasons. You'll benefit from lower rental rates, greater selection, beautiful weather and the absence of large crowds at the beach and popular Beaufort, SC attractions.
- Some owners offer rate reductions for veterans. It's always a good idea to check with your host or property manager to see if special offers are available for your family.
- Management companies and individual rental owners frequently offer their guests an option to purchase vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which normally costs 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for days missed as a result of personal medical-related catastrophes or weather, as well as ensuing additional evacuation charges, such as an unanticipated hotel stay or extra gas expenses. Trip insurance might be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask the property owner for more information.
- Look for your local Beaufort, SC visitors guide magazine upon checking in. If your rental home doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local grocery stores and visitor centers. In addition to great local information, travel guide magazines contain discounts for nearby restaurants, attractions, and tours.
Use filters to narrow your search:

- Hosts are available to help! Don't be shy to ask questions during your stay.
- Lock your rental property while you are gone! Don't let burglars spoil your holiday.
- Note any damages to the rental upon arrival, and immediately contact the property manager. We specifically recommend texts and e-mails, as they usually contain time stamps that can be helpful if there is a dispute.
- Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking policies can make a stay significantly more pleasurable. You will increase your chance to make some new local friends, and resident neighbors are a fantastic source for finding the best local attractions.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Residents can usually point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to launch your kayaks, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for fishing?
- Re-check the vacation property to make sure that you've packed all of your belongings at departure. Make sure to check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden treasure. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Inspect the rental a final time and scan for any damage. We suggest inspecting the property with the host whenever possible. If the manager is not available, remember to take video of the property to record its condition.
- Leave feedback! Property owners rely on excellent feedback to compel new reservations. They'll be thankful for your feedback. Alternatively, if something wasn't right, other vacationers will will be grateful for your experience and help them have the best future vacation. Remember to be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the owner had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded expeditiously to solve it.
