Tips and Tricks for getting the perfect Beaufort, SC vacation home experience:
When to book & When to go:
- Reserve your vacation home as soon as possible. Rental schedules generally open 12 months in advance (or in September just after the Summer season ends). Many families book their Summer rental homes during Christmas and Thanksgiving gatherings. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
- June, July, and August are the most expensive months in the Beaufort, SC area. To find the best value, consider changing your vacation week to the Spring or Fall shoulder seasons. May, September, and October offer great temperatures, fewer crowds, and reduced traffic.
- Property management companies sometimes offer discounts for active duty military and veterans. Ask your property manager if rate reductions are available for your group before you book.
- Property managers frequently offer their guests an option to add trip insurance. Trip insurance, which generally will cost anywhere between 1% - 5% of the base booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any days missed as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as evacuation costs, such as an unexpected hotel stay or additional gasoline expenses. Trip insurance might be a a life-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your property manager for additional information.
- Often, property management companies and vacation rental houses supply Beaufort, SC area visitor guide magazines which include coupons, either offered independently by local businesses, or by way of a relationship between the management company and the business itself. You can also find Beaufort, SC visitors guide and coupon books at local shops and grocery stores.

- Select a designated group leader, select your dates, and select a max budget.
- Determine how many beds and the configuration your group needs. 52 Davis Love Drive - New to VRBO! Resort Access Included! has 3 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms.
- Specific information regarding bedrooms and bed counts & types is commonly available online. If they are not listed, email or call the property owner before you reserve the property. Remember that most property listings specify maximum guest capacity, which usually includes pull-out couches.
- If your group is bringing pets, search for a pet-friendly rental. Make sure to ask for specifics on breed, weight, and type requirements. Note that some property managers require additional pet deposits and fees.
- Are you looking for unique amenities? Most rental websites include amenity lists and search filters. Filtering by amenity will allow you to quickly find the perfect rental home.
- Appropriate accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for persons with a disability. Confirm all necessary amenities are included before booking.
Considerations for your stay:
- Review check in & check out procedures before leaving home. Save the directions to your phone, and take a printed backup.
- Property managers are available to help! Don't be shy to ask questions before, during, or after your stay.
- Keep your rental home locked while you are out! Don't let crooks spoil your family vacation.
- Make a record of any damages to the property during check in, and immediately contact the owner. We especially recommend texts and e-mails, as they usually contain time stamps that are helpful if a dispute is filed.
- Respect the neighborhood. Often, nearby homes are occupied by permanent residents. Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking policies can make a stay significantly more pleasurable.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Neighbors can typically point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to enjoy a steak with a view, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for crabbing?
- When it's time to leave, take a final walk-through to confirm you did not leave anything behind. Remember to check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden belongings. Clean the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Please make sure to walk through the rental one final time and look for damage. We advise inspecting the property with the property manager whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the manager isn't available, ensure that you take pictures of the rental to record its condition.
- After your trip, leave feedback! Property managers rely on excellent ratings to drive future bookings. They'll be grateful for your review. Alternatively, if something went wrong, other vacationers will be thankful you shared your review find their best vacation rental. Please be fair with your feedback If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the manager had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded quickly to solve it.
