Also within walking distance are all of Beaufort's antebellum mansions, stately live oaks and many historic sites. You will be across the street from the circa 1799 Beaufort Arsenal Visitor Center and Museum as well as the Beaufort Reconstruction Era National Monument.

Parris Island is an simple 10 mile drive and Hunting Island State Park/Beaches is 18 miles.
