Our top Beaufort, SC rental booking tips:
Finding the best rental home value:
- The sooner your group can book a vacation home, the better your selection will be. The most desirable rental homes are reserved very early. Reserving your rental property up to 12 months before your travel dates is recommended. Christmas, Thanksgiving and New Years Eve are excellent times to plan and reserve your rental home.
- June, July, and August are the most expensive months in the Beaufort, SC area. To get the largest rental within your budget, we recommend reserving in the Spring or Fall. You'll benefit from lower rates, greater selection, beautiful weather and the absence of large crowds at local restaurants, tours, and activities. Many vacationers use this strategy to reserve larger homes, or to reserve an oceanfront rental that would otherwise be unavailable or unaffordable during the Summer.
- Some hosts and property managers offer promotional rates for active duty military and veterans. It's always a good idea to check with your property manager to see if rate reductions are available for your family.
- Property management companies frequently offer customers an option to purchase vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which usually costs 1% - 5% of the booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed trip time as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional evacuation charges, such as an unanticipated hotel or extra fuel expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a life-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for details.
- Look for your local Beaufort, SC visitors guide magazine upon arrival. If your rental property doesn't have one, you can find them at local shops and fuel stations. In addition to great articles, travel guide magazines have coupons for nearby accommodations and attractions.
Use filters to search efficiently:
- Choose your vacation dates and spending budget.
- Determine how many bedrooms and the bed configuration your group requires. Charming Port Royal Townhouse - 2 Miles From Parris Island has 2 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms.
- Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts is often available on booking pages. If they are not listed, email the property owner before you book the vacation property. Remember that most properties list the maximum guest capacity, which usually includes sofa beds and bunks.
- If your group is vacationing with pets, you'll need to book a pet-friendly property. Ask for specifics on breed, size, and type restrictions. Often, property managers require additional pet deposits and fees.
- Looking for unique amenities? Most rental websites include amenity lists and search filters. Amenity filters help you quickly remove less-optimal properties.
- Proper accessibility can make or break a vacation for persons with disabilities. Confirm all required amenities are included before reserving a rental.
Know before you go:
- Be sure you get the owner's phone number and check in/check out procedures for your rental property. We recommend storing the manager's information in your smartphone.
- Hosts are there to help! Feel free to ask questions during your stay.
- Lock your vacation home while you're out and about. Protect your property!
- Record any issues with the property during check in, and immediately e-mail them to the property manager. We especially recommend e-mails and text messages, as they usually contain built-in time stamps that are beneficial if damages are attributed to your stay.
- Be a good neighbor. Often, surrounding homes are filled by permanent residents. Respecting late-night noise limits and parking regulations reduces conflict and allows everyone to enjoy their day.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Local residents can typically point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to spend a rainy day, have a great night out, or the best spots for shopping?
- At departure, complete a final walk-through to confirm you didn't leave anything behind. Re-check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden items. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Walk through the property a final time and keep an eye out for any damage. We recommend walking through with the property manager whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the host isn't available, ensure that you take photos and video of the property to record its condition at check-out.
- Did your group have a excellent vacation? Many rental management companies make it easy for guests to provide comments. If your property and/or host was fantastic, they always love to hear your praise. If anything was inoperable and they failed to correct it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make it a point as part of your feedback.
