How to find the best Fripp Island rental home experience:

Finding your perfect rental:

  • The sooner you can reserve a vacation home, the easier your search will be. The best vacation homes are reserved early. Reserving your rental home six - twelve months before your vacation is recommended. Winter holidays are excellent times to plan and book your rental property.
  • Summer time is high season in the Beaufort, SC area. Reserving a rental home in the Fall or Spring shoulder seasons is our best tip for saving money on your vacation. Rates are lower, and you'll find a better selection of acceptable homes.
  • Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective host if your group qualifies for a special promotion or discount.
  • Booking websites often offer renters an option to add trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which usually will cost 1% - 5% of the base reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed days as a result of medical-related issues or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation charges, such as an unanticipated hotel or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a bank account-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for specifics.
  • Look for your local Beaufort, SC visitors guide magazine when you check-in. If your rental home doesn't have one, you can find them at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers. In addition to great articles, visitors guides have discounts for local shops and restaurants.

Filter your rental search:

  • First and foremost, have your family decide on trip dates and a budget.
  • Note the number beds and the bed configuration your group needs. Splash of Chic - Three Bedroom House, Sleeps 8 has 3 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our Beaufort, SC rental home search.
  • Specific details about bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is almost always available on booking websites. Otherwise, email the host before you book the home. Note that most properties list the maximum guest capacity, which typically includes sofa beds and bunks.
  • If your family is traveling with pets, filter your search for a pet-friendly vacation rental. Get specifics on breed, weight, and type requirements. Be aware that some hosts charge additional pet fees.
  • Is your group looking for unique amenities? Most rental websites include search filters for amenities. Amenity filters help you quickly remove less-optimal properties.
  • Proper accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for persons with a disability. Remember to confirm all required amenities are available and included before reserving a rental

More tips for your visit:

  • Be sure you get the property manager's phone number and check in/check out procedures for your rental home.
  • Ask questions. You may need instructions for a fireplace, stereo or kitchen appliance. Contact your host. They are there to help! A brief phone call prevents a lot of problems.
  • Protect the rental owner (and your things!) by locking the rental while you are out, just like you would back home.
  • To ensure that no damages are linked to your stay, record any problem areas upon check in. Make contact with the host immediately to report any damages. If there is a dispute, having the recorded concerns and contact attempts will be useful.
  • Be a good neighbor. Often times, adjacent homes are filled by permanent residents. Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking regulations is the right thing to do.
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Residents can typically point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to go for the best drinks, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for fishing?
  • Double-check every room of the property to make sure that you've packed all personal items at check-out. Remember to check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden items. Clean out the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
  • Remember to leave a review! Hosts rely on great ratings to stimulate more reservations. They'll be much obliged for your feedback. Alternatively, if something wasn't right, other families will appreciate that you share your review and help them have the best future vacation. Be fair with your review. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the property manager could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded quickly to solve it.
