Tips for getting the perfect Beaufort, SC vacation property experience:

Finding your perfect rental:

  • Reserve your vacation home as early as possible. Rental schedules generally open twelve months in advance (or in September just after Summer ends). Many groups book their Summer rental homes during holiday get-togethers. Book before these holidays for best selection.
  • June, July, and August are high season in the Beaufort, SC area. To get the best value, shift your family's Beaufort, SC trip dates to the Spring or Fall shoulder seasons. May, September, and October offer pleasant temperatures, fewer crowds, and greatly reduced traffic. Many vacationers use this method to find larger homes within budget, or to reserve an oceanfront vacation rental that would otherwise be unavailable or unaffordable during June, July, and August.
  • Property management companies sometimes offer promotional rates for veterans. Remember to ask your host or property manager if special discounts are available for your family before you book.
  • Booking websites usually offer their guests an option to buy vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which generally costs between 1% - 5% of the base booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any days missed as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation charges, such as an unanticipated hotel overnight or additional fuel expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a bank account-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your host for specifics.
  • Often, property management companies and vacation rental houses supply Beaufort, SC area travel guides that include money-saving offers, either offered independently by local companies, or by way of a partnership between the rental management company and the business itself. You can also find visitors guide and coupon books at local shops and grocery stores.

  • Select dates and max budget.
  • Determine how many beds and the bed configuration your group needs. 125 Ocean Point Drive - New to VRBO! Resort Access Included! has 3 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms.
  • Precise details about bedrooms and bed types is often available online. If you don't see them listed, contact the property management company before you book your rental. Note that most properties list the max. guest capacity, which usually includes pull-out couches. You will need to determine what bed configuration is right for your group.
  • Traveling with pets? Although a number of vacation homes allow pets or animals, guidelines and costs vary per property. Allowable pet type, breed, and size are often limited. Remember to ask the property manager before booking, and study your agreement thoroughly! Extra fees or charges could be applied to your agreement.
  • If there's a certain Beaufort, SC attraction you crave, browse rentals that are either nearby, or those that cater to your desires.
  • Suitable accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for persons with disabilities. .

Advice for your stay:

  • Review check in & check out procedures before leaving home. Take a printed copy, and add a note with the directions to your phone.
  • Hosts are available to help! Feel free to ask any questions during your stay.
  • Protect the property owner (and your stuff!) by locking the rental when you are out, just like you would at home.
  • Make a record of any damages to the property during check in, and immediately contact the property manager. We specifically recommend texts and e-mails, as they usually contain built-in time stamps that can be helpful if there is a dispute.
  • Respecting quiet hours and parking policies can make a stay more pleasurable. Be a good neighbor. You'll increase your chance to make local friends, and resident neighbors are often a great source for finding the best local beaches and hangouts.
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Residents can usually help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to spend a rainy day, have a great night out, or the best spots for crabbing?
  • Don't leave anything behind! Just before you drive away, walk through the rental to confirm you've collected all of your things. Re-check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden treasure. Clean out the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Inspect the property one final time and keep an eye out for any damage. We advise inspecting the property with the host whenever you can. If the property manager isn't available, take video and pictures of the property to record its condition.
  • Did your family have a wonderful stay? Most rental management companies make it easy for vacationers to provide feedback. If your rental property and/or host was wonderful, they always love to hear your praise. If anything was wrong and they failed to address it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make it a point as part of your comments.
