How to get the best Beaufort vacation home experience:

How to get the best rental home value:

  • To get the best value, change your group's vacation to the Spring or Fall months. May, September, and even October offer excellent weather, fewer crowds, and reduced traffic.
  • Reserve your vacation home as soon as possible. Rental schedules generally become available 12 months in advance (or in September just after the Summer season ends). Many families book their Summer rental homes during Thanksgiving and Christmas get-togethers. Book before these holidays for best selection.
  • Some property managers offer promotional rates for active duty military and veterans. Ask your property manager if special offers are available for your group before you book.
  • Management companies and individual rental owners typically offer customers an option to buy trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which usually will cost between 1% - 5% of the reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed trip time as a result of medical-related issues or weather, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation costs, such as an unanticipated hotel or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask your property manager for more information.
  • Find a copy of your local Beaufort, SC visitors guide when you arrive at the rental property. If your rental home doesn't have one, you can find them at local shops and fuel stations. In addition to great local articles, visitor guide magazines contain money saving offers on nearby accommodations, tours and attractions.

How to pick the best vacation home in the Beaufort, SC area:

  • Choose a designated group leader, select your dates, and select a spending budget.
  • Decide how many beds and what type of bedroom configuration your family requires. Charming Beaufort Cottage with Marsh Views and Hunting Island Beach pass has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
  • Specific information about bedrooms and bed types is commonly available on booking pages. If not, contact the property manager before you reserve the vacation property. Remember that most property listings specify maximum guest capacity, which usually includes sofa beds in living rooms.
  • Does your group require special amenities? Most rental search websites include search filters for amenities. Use these filters to your advantage to find the perfect rental home.
  • Proper accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for persons with disabilities. Remember to confirm all necessary amenities are included before booking
  • Are you bringing the family pet? Many vacation homes allow animals, but guidelines and restrictions apply. Type of pet, size and breeds may be limited. Remember to ask the property manager before booking, and study your agreement thoroughly! Pet fees or might be applied to your invoice.

More tips for your stay:

  • Get the owner's phone number and entry/exit procedures for your .
  • During check-in, document any damages to the rental property and immediately contact the host. Keep records of all coorespondence.
  • Hosts are great sources of help! Don't be shy to ask any questions before, during, or after your stay.
  • Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking regulations can make a stay significantly more pleasurable. Be a good neighbor. You'll enhance your chance to make local friends, and resident neighbors can be a fantastic resource to find the best local beaches.
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Locals can frequently point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to find the fresh catch of the day, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for fishing?
  • Protect the property owner (and your things!) by locking the property while you are gone, just like you would at home.
  • Don't leave anything behind! Before you drive away, walk through the property to make sure you've collected all personal items. Re-check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden items. Clean the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Inspect the property one final time and look for damages to contents or the property itself. We suggest walking through with the property manager whenever possible. If the host is not available, remember to take photos of the property to record its condition at check-out.
  • Did your family have a wonderful time? Most rental managers make it easy for customers to provide comments. If your rental and/or property manager was fantastic, they would love to hear about it. If anything was defective and they failed to correct it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make it a point as part of your feedback.
