Tips and Tricks to get the best Beaufort, SC rental experience:

Cost saving strategies:

  • Reserve your rental as soon as possible. Rental schedules generally open 12 months in advance (or in September just after Summer ends). Many groups book their Summer rental homes during holiday gatherings. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
  • Summer months are high season in the Beaufort, SC area. Booking your vacation rental in the Spring or Fall is our best tip for saving money on your vacation rental. Rental rates are lower, and you'll find a larger selection of suitable properties. Many vacationers use this method to reserve larger homes, or to reserve a beach front rental that would otherwise be unaffordable during the high season. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Beaufort, SC vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation near the ocean? Christmas, Thanksgiving, and New Years Eve are great times to gather with friends and family at the beach.
  • Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective host if your group qualifies for a price reduction or discount.
  • Property management companies frequently offer their guests an option to purchase trip insurance. Trip insurance, which will generally cost 1% - 5% of the base booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed trip time as a result of personal medical-related emergencies or weather, as well as ensuing additional evacuation costs or charges, such as an unexpected hotel or extra gas expenses. Trip insurance can be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask the property owner for more information.
  • Find a copy of your local visitors guide when you check-in. If your rental doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local shops and visitor centers. In addition to great local articles, visitor guides have discounts for nearby restaurants, attractions, and tours.

How to pick the best vacation home in Beaufort:

  • To start, have your group commit to trip dates and a spending budget.
  • Decide how many bedrooms and the configuration you need. Charming Beaufort Cottage with Marsh Views and Hunting Island Beach pass has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
  • Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts is often accessible online. If they are not listed, email the property owner before you book the rental. Remember that most properties list the maximum guest capacity, which usually includes pull out couches in living rooms.
  • Some properties allow pets, but some don't. Acceptable types of family pet, size and breeds may be restricted, and additional charges may apply. Ask your host about pet restrictions before booking.
  • Are you visiting for a single event or attraction? Try a map search to locate nearby rentals.
  • Proper accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for those with limited mobility. Confirm all necessary amenities are available before reserving a rental.

Considerations for your stay:

  • Add the owner's phone number to your phone. Understand and take a copy of check in/check out procedures.
  • Ask questions. You may want instructions for a garage door opener, television set or washer/dryer. Contact your owner. They are there to help! A brief telephone call prevents a lot of issues.
  • Protect the property owner (and your things!) by locking the property while you are away, just like you would at home.
  • To make certain that no damages are attributed to your visit, make note of any problem areas when you arrive. Make contact with the host right away to document any issues. If there is a dispute about legal responsibility later, having a record of issues and contact attempts will be very helpful.
  • Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking policies can make a stay more pleasurable. Be a good neighbor. You will magnify your chance to make local friends, and resident neighbors are often a fantastic resource to find the best local beaches.
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Local residents can often point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to find the best seashells, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for fishing?
  • At departure, complete a final walk-through to make sure you did not forget any personal items. Check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden treasure. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Go through the property a final time and keep an eye out for damages to contents or the property itself. We suggest inspecting the property with the host whenever possible. If the manager is not available, ensure that you take video of the rental to record its condition.
  • Did you have a excellent stay? Most rental home management companies make it easy for customers to provide reviews. If your rental and/or host was terrific, they always love to hear your praise. If anything was imperfect and they failed to address it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make a note as part of your comments.
