Tips to get the optimal Beaufort, SC vacation property experience:

Finding your perfect rental:

  • Book your vacation rental as early as possible. Rental schedules usually open 12 months in advance (or in September just after Summer ends). Many families reserve their Summer vacation rentals during Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years Eve gatherings. Book before these holidays for best selection.
  • June, July, and August are high season in Fripp Island. To find the best value, shift your vacation week to the Spring or Fall shoulder seasons. May, September, and even October offer excellent weather, fewer crowds, and greatly reduced traffic.
  • Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property manager or host whether your group qualifies for a price reduction or discount.
  • Property managers often offer customers an option to buy vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which usually costs anywhere between 1% - 5% of the base booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for days missed as a result of personal medical-related catastrophes or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation costs or charges, such as an unexpected hotel stay or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance might be a a life-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your host for program terms and fees.
  • Look for your local visitors guide when you check-in. If your rental property doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local shops and fuel stations. In addition to great information, visitor guide magazines have money saving offers on local accommodations and attractions.

Use filters to search efficiently:

  • Start by choosing vacation dates and a max budget.
  • Note the number bedrooms and what type of bedroom configuration your family needs. Fripp Island Condo Overlookig the Ocean! has 3 bedrooms and 4 bathrooms.
  • Precise information regarding bedrooms and bed counts is commonly available on booking websites. If you don't see them listed, call the host before booking your rental. Remember that most properties list maximum guest capacity, which usually includes pull-out couches and bunk beds. You'll need to establish what bed configuration is suitable for your vacation.
  • If your family is vacationing with pets, filter your search for a property that allows animals. Request information on breed, weight, and type restrictions. Often, property managers charge pet deposits and fees.
  • Does your family require particular amenities? Most websites include amenity lists and search filters. Amenity filters help you quickly remove less-optimal properties.
  • Suitable accessibility can make or break a vacation for guests that require the use of a wheelchair. .

Tips for a smooth stay:

  • Put the manager's information in your smartphone and wallet.
  • Property managers are available to help! Don't be shy to ask questions during your stay.
  • Lock your rental home while you're away. Protect the owner's property and your stuff!
  • At Check-in, make note of any damages to the rental property and immediately contact the owner. Keep records of all correspondence in case a dispute arises.
  • Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking restrictions can make a stay significantly more pleasurable. Be a good neighbor. You'll magnify your chance to make some new local friends, and resident neighbors are often a fantastic resource to find the best local spots.
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Local residents can typically help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to grab the best tacos, have a great night out, or the best spots for bird watching?
  • Don't leave anything behind! Before departing, take a walk through the rental property to confirm you've collected all personal belongings. Remember to check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden treasure. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Record a video to document the condition of the property.
  • Leave a review! Property owners rely on good feedback to propel new reservations. They'll be thankful for your review. Alternatively, if something wasn't right, other vacationing families will be thankful you shared your feedback and help them have the best future vacation. Please be fair with your feedback If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the owner had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded reasonably to solve it.
