Tips to get the perfect Beaufort, SC rental experience:

Get the most from your budget:

  • Reserve your rental as soon as possible. Rental schedules generally become available a year in advance (or in September just after Summer ends). Many families reserve their Summer vacation rentals during Christmas and Thanksgiving get-togethers. Book before these holidays for best selection.
  • June, July, and August are high season in Fripp Island. Booking your vacation home in the Fall or Spring is a good way to save on your vacation home. Rental rates are lower, and you'll find a better selection of suitable homes.
  • Some property management companies offer promotional rates for veterans and active duty military. Check with your property manager to see if special offers are available for your family.
  • Property managers often offer customers an option to purchase vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which costs between 1% - 5% of the booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed vacation time as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as hurricane evacuation charges, such as an unanticipated hotel or extra fuel expenses. Trip insurance can be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for program terms and fees.
  • Find a copy of your local Beaufort, SC area magazine when you arrive at the rental property. If your rental doesn't have one, you can find them at local shops and fuel stations. In addition to great local articles, visitor guide magazines have offers and deals for local tours, shops, and attractions.

Use filters to narrow your search:

  • Select your vacation dates and max budget.
  • Decide how many beds and the configuration your group requires. Waterfront Property with Million Dollar Sunset Views!! has 3 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms.
  • Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is generally accessible online. Otherwise, email or call the property manager before booking your home. Remember that most property listings specify maximum guest capacity, which usually includes pull-out couches. You'll need to establish what is optimal for your vacation group.
  • If your family is traveling with pets, you'll need to search for a rental that allows animals. Make sure to ask for details on breed, size, and type restrictions. Some property managers require additional pet deposits and fees.
  • If there's a particular Beaufort, SC beach you are enamored with, search for properties that are either nearby, or those that cater especially to your desires.
  • Appropriate accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for guests with disabilities. Confirm all required amenities are included before reserving a rental.

More considerations for your visit:

  • Be sure you get the host's phone number and entry/exit procedures for your rental. We recommend storing the host's contact information in your smartphone.
  • Ask questions. You may want instructions for a hot tub, elevator or thermostat. Contact your host. They are there to help! A brief phone call can prevent many problems.
  • Keep your rental home locked while you're gone! Don't let crooks ruin your family vacation.
  • To make certain damages are not linked to your visit, make note of any problem areas upon check in. Speak to the rental manager immediately to relay any issues. If there is a dispute about who is responsible, having the recorded issues and contact attempts will be useful.
  • Respecting quiet hours and parking regulations can make a stay more pleasurable. You will magnify your chance to make local friends, and resident neighbors are often an incredible resource to find the best local scenic spots.
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Neighbors can typically help. Who better to ask where to take kids for a treat, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for bird watching?
  • Double-check the property to confirm that you've packed all belongings on check-out day. Remember to check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden items. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Walk through the rental one final time and look for any damage. We recommend walking through with the host whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the host is not available, ensure that you take pictures of the rental to record its condition.
  • Did you have a great time? Most rental managers make it easy for guests to provide feedback. If your rental and/or host was great, they would love to hear it. If anything was out of order and they failed to correct it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make a note as part of your feedback.
