Our top Rental property booking tips and tricks:

Find your best deal:

  • To get the best value, consider changing your family's Beaufort, SC vacation to the Spring or Fall shoulder seasons. May, September, and October offer great weather, less crowded beaches, and reduced traffic. Many vacationers use this strategy to find larger homes within budget, or to reserve an oceanfront vacation rental that would otherwise be unavailable during the Summer.
  • In the Beaufort, SC area, The earlier you can reserve a vacation home, the easier your search will be. The most desirable rental properties are reserved early. Booking your vacation home 6-12 months before your travel dates is recommended. Holidays such as Christmas and Thanksgiving are excellent times to search for and book your rental.
  • Some property management companies offer promotional rates for veterans and active duty military. Ask your host or property manager if special discounts are available for your family.
  • Booking websites frequently offer renters an option to obtain vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which will generally cost between 1% - 5% of the reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed vacation time as a result of medical-related issues or weather, as well as evacuation costs or charges, such as an unanticipated hotel overnight or extra fuel expenses. Trip insurance can be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask your property manager for specifics.
  • Look for your local Beaufort, SC visitors guide when you arrive at the rental property. If your rental property doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local shops and fuel stations. In addition to great local articles, travel guide magazines have deals for local tours and attractions.

Narrow your rental Search:

  • Select a designated group leader, choose your vacation dates, and select a maximum budget.
  • Determine how many bedrooms and the bed configuration your family requires. Secluded retreat with private dock and fire pit. Only steps from the beach! has 4 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our search.
  • Precise information regarding bedrooms and bed counts & types is commonly available on booking websites. Otherwise, email the property manager before booking the property. Remember that most listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which oftentimes includes pull out couches in living rooms.
  • If there's a certain Beaufort, SC beach you are crazy about, search for rentals that are either nearby, or those that cater to your needs.
  • Proper accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for those with limited mobility. Confirm all required amenities are available before reserving a rental.
  • Some rental properties allow pets, but others don't. Acceptable types of pet, size and breeds may be restricted, and added charges may apply. Ask the host about your furry family members before booking.

During your stay:

  • Review arrival and departure procedures before leaving home. Add a note with the instructions to your smartphone, and take a printed backup.
  • To make certain damages are not linked to your stay, make a record of any problem areas when you arrive. E-mail the rental manager immediately to relay any issues. If there is a dispute about who is responsible, having a record of issues and contact attempts will be valuable.
  • Ask questions. You may need instructions for a hot tub, stereo or kitchen appliance. Contact your host. They are there to help! A brief call prevents a lot of problems.
  • Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking regulations can make a stay significantly more pleasurable. You'll enhance your chance to make some new local friends, and resident neighbors are usually an incredible resource to find the best local beaches and restaurants.
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Local residents can usually help. Who better to ask where to get the best breakfast in town, have a great night out, or the best spots for bird watching?
  • Lock your rental property while you are away! Don't let crooks ruin your trip.
  • Re-check every room of the rental property to confirm that you've packed all of your belongings at departure. Re-check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden treasure. Clean out the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
  • Did your family have a excellent vacation? Most rental home management companies make it easy for clients to provide reviews. If your rental and/or property manager was fantastic, they would love to hear it. If anything was defective and they failed to address it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make it a point as part of your review.
