Tricks and tips for getting the perfect Beaufort, SC vacation property experience:
Get the best rental home value:
- Summer months are high season in Fripp Island. To find the best value, consider changing your vacation week to the Spring or Fall months. May, September, and even October offer excellent temperatures, less crowded beaches, and reduced traffic.
- Reserve your rental as early as possible. Rental schedules often open 12 months in advance (or in September just after Summertime ends). Many groups reserve their Summer rental homes during holiday gatherings. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
- Some property managers offer discounts for active duty military and veterans. Check with your host or property manager to see if special offers are available for your family before you book.
- Management companies and individual rental owners typically offer their guests an option to obtain trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which commonly will cost between 1% - 5% of the base booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed vacation time as a result of personal medical-related issues or weather disasters, as well as evacuation costs or charges, such as an unanticipated hotel overnight or extra gas expenses. Trip insurance might be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your property manager for additional information.
- Find a copy of your local Beaufort, SC visitors guide upon checking in. If your rental doesn't have one, you can find them at local grocery stores and visitor centers. In addition to great information, visitors guides have deals for nearby accommodations, tours and attractions.
How to select the perfect rental in Fripp Island:
- Choose a designated group leader, select your vacation dates, and choose a budget.
- Determine how many bedrooms and the configuration your group needs. Secluded 2 Bedroom Treehouse w\/Spectacular Marsh Views, 873 Fiddlers Ridge has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our vacation rental search.
- Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts & types is normally available online. If you don't see them listed, contact the host before you reserve the rental. Remember that most listings specify maximum guest capacity, which often includes sofa beds.
- If there's a specific Beaufort, SC attraction you are crazy about, look for properties that are either nearby, or those that cater to your desires.
- Proper accessibility can make or break a vacation for persons with disabilities. Confirm all required amenities are available and included before reserving a rental
- Some rental properties allow pets, but others do not. Allowable types of family pet, weight and breeds may be restricted, and added costs may apply. Ask your host about pets before booking.
Advice for your stay:
- Review arrival and departure procedures before traveling. Take a printed copy, and add a note with the instructions to your phone.
- To ensure that no damages are linked to your family's visit, inspect for any problem areas upon check in. E-mail the rental manager immediately to report your findings. If there is a dispute, having a record of concerns and contact attempts will be valuable.
- Ask questions. You may want instructions for a fireplace, intercom or thermostat. Contact your property manager. They are there to help! A brief text message can prevent lots of concerns.
- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like troublesome vacationers disrupting your home life. Practice the golden rule for common sense. If they like you, locals might even recommend great restaurants and scenic spots you would have not otherwise known!
- Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Local residents can usually point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to get the best breakfast in town, have a great night out, or the best spots for crabbing?
- Ensure you protect the property owner (and your stuff!) by locking and securing the home when you are gone, just like you would at home.
- Don't leave anything behind! Before departing, walk through the property to make sure you've collected all personal belongings. Re-check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden treasure. Clean out the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Please make sure to walk through the property one final time and look for damage. We advise inspecting the property with the property manager whenever you can. If the property manager isn't available, remember to take video and pictures of the rental to record its condition at check-out.
- Did you have a terrific vacation? Most rental home management companies make it easy for travelers to provide reviews. If your rental property and/or property manager was wonderful, they would love to hear about it. If anything was defective and they failed to address it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make a note as part of your review.
