Tricks and tips to get the best rental home experience:
Sticking to a spending plan:
- June, July, and August are high season in Port Royal. Book your rental property in Fall or Spring months to get the benefit of beautiful weather while saving money and avoiding crowded roads, restaurants, and activities. Many vacationers use this method to find larger homes within budget, or to book an oceanfront vacation rental that would otherwise be unavailable during the Summer months.
- The sooner you can reserve a home, the better your selection will be. The best rental homes are reserved very early. Booking your rental 6-12 months before your vacation dates is recommended. Christmas, Thanksgiving and New Years Eve are excellent times to search for and book your vacation home.
- Some hosts and property managers offer special rates for veterans and active duty military. Remember to ask your property manager if special offers are available for your group before you book.
- Management companies and individual rental owners typically offer their guests an option to add vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which costs anywhere between 1% - 5% of the base reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any days missed as a result of personal medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation costs, such as an unanticipated hotel stay or extra gasoline expenses. Trip insurance might be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your host for specifics.
- Many property management companies and vacation rental houses supply Beaufort, SC area visitor guide magazines that include money-saving offers, either offered independently by local companies, or through a partnership between the property management company and the business itself. You can also find Beaufort, SC visitors guide and coupon books at local shops and grocery stores.

- Choose dates and maximum budget.
- Note the number bedrooms and what type of bedroom configuration your family requires. Port Of The Royal - 2 Minutes from Parris Island, 5 Minute WALK to Restaurants. has 4 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our Beaufort, SC vacation rental search.
- Precise details about bedrooms and bed counts & types is generally accessible on booking pages. If they are not listed, email or call the host before you reserve your rental. Note that most listings specify maximum guest capacity, which often includes sofa beds in living rooms. You'll need to establish what is suitable for your vacation family.
- If there's a certain Beaufort, SC attraction you simply love, search for rentals that are either nearby, or those that cater especially to your needs.
- Suitable accessibility can make or break a vacation for persons with disabilities. .
- If your group is traveling with pets, you'll need to search for a pet-friendly rental. Ask for specifics on breed, size, and type requirements. Often, hosts charge additional pet fees.
During your stay:
- Review arrival and departure procedures before traveling. Save the directions to your smartphone, and take a printed copy.
- At Check-in, make note of any issues with the rental property and immediately contact the property manager. Keep records of all correspondence just in case a dispute arises.
- Ask questions. You may want instructions for a fireplace, elevator or appliance. Contact your host. They are there to help! A brief call prevents lots of problems.
- Respecting quiet hours and parking restrictions can make a stay more pleasurable. Be a good neighbor. You'll enhance your chance to make local friends, and resident neighbors are an excellent source for finding the best local restaurants, beaches, and hangouts.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local! Residents can usually help. Who better to ask where to find the best seashells, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for BBQ?
- Keep your rental home locked while you are away! Don't let crooks ruin your family vacation.
- When it's time to leave, complete a walk-through to make sure you didn't leave anything behind. Make sure to check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden items. Clean the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Walk through the property one final time and look for any damage. We recommend inspecting the property with the property manager whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the host isn't available, take photographs of the rental to record its condition at check-out.
- Did you have a excellent vacation? Most rental home management companies make it easy for vacationers to provide comments. If your rental and/or host was wonderful, they always love to hear your praise. If anything was out of order and they failed to address it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make a note as part of your comments.
