Tips to get the perfect vacation rental experience:
Find your perfect rental:
- Summertime is the most expensive season along the coast of SC. To get the best value, change your group's vacation dates to the Spring or Fall months. May, September, and even October offer warmer temperatures, , and reduced traffic.
- Reserve your vacation home as soon as possible. Rental schedules often open 12 months in advance (or in September just after Summertime ends). Many families book their Summer rental homes during Christmas and Thanksgiving get-togethers. Book before these holidays for best selection.
- Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property owner whether your family qualifies for a discount.
- Property managers usually offer renters an option to purchase vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which will generally cost between 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any days missed as a result of personal medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional evacuation charges, such as an unexpected hotel or additional fuel expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a life-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your host for program terms and fees.
- Many management companies and vacation rental houses supply Beaufort, SC area visitors guides that include coupons, either offered independently by local businesses, or through a relationship between the rental management company and the business itself. You can also find Beaufort, SC visitors guide magazine and coupon books at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers.
Narrow your rental Search:
- Begin by selecting the best vacation week and a maximum budget.
- Decide how many bedrooms and what type of bedroom configuration your family needs. 1 mile from Parris Island! Close to beaches, restaurants and shopping.. Sleeps 8 has 4 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our search.
- Specific information about bedrooms and bed counts & types is commonly accessible on booking pages. If you don't see them listed, reach out to the property owner before you book your rental. Remember that most properties list the maximum guest capacity, which often includes pull out couches in living rooms. You will need to determine what is suitable for your family.
- Visiting for a single event or attraction? If so, use a map search to find nearby rentals.
- Appropriate accessibility can make or break a vacation for guests with disabilities. Remember to confirm all necessary amenities are available and included before booking
- If your group is vacationing with pets, you must book a pet-friendly vacation rental. Get details on breed, weight, and type restrictions. Note that some property owners charge pet deposits and fees.
Advice for your stay:
- Review check in & check out procedures before traveling. Add a note with the instructions to your phone, and take a printed copy.
- To make sure that damages are not linked to your family's visit, make note of any problem areas during check in. message the property manager immediately to report any issues. If there is a dispute about who is responsible, having a record of concerns and contact attempts will be valuable.
- Property managers are there to help! Feel free to ask questions during your stay.
- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like loud visitors bothering your quiet neighborhood. Use the golden rule for common sense. Happy residents may even recommend great beaches and scenic spots you would've not otherwise known!
- Don't forget to... Ask a local! Neighbors can typically help. Who better to ask where to find the fresh catch of the day, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for fishing?
- Keep the property locked while you're gone! Don't let thieves ruin your vacation.
- Don't leave anything behind! Before you drive away, walk through the property to make sure you've collected all of your things. Remember to check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden belongings. Clean out the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
- Did you have a terrific stay? Most rental home management companies make it easy for customers to provide reviews. If your property and/or host was terrific, they would love to hear about it. If anything was defective and they failed to address it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make it a point as part of your review.
