Booking the best rental experience:
How to get the best value:
- The earlier your group can book a rental home, the easier your search will be. The best vacation rentals are reserved early. Booking your rental property up to twelve months before your vacation dates is recommended. Holidays such as Christmas and Thanksgiving are excellent times to plan and reserve your rental home.
- June, July, and August are the most expensive months in the Beaufort, SC area. Reserving a rental home in the Fall or Spring is a great way to save on your vacation rental. Rates are lower, and you'll find a better selection of acceptable homes. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Beaufort, SC vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday near the ocean? Christmas, Thanksgiving, and New Years Eve are great times to gather with friends and family at the beach.
- Property management companies sometimes offer promotional rates for veterans and active duty military. Ask your host or property manager if special discounts are available for your family.
- Management companies and individual rental owners often offer customers an option to obtain trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which commonly costs anywhere between 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any days missed as a result of personal medical-related issues or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation costs or charges, such as an unexpected hotel overnight or extra fuel expenses. Trip insurance can be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask the property owner for more information.
- Often, management companies supply Beaufort, SC area visitors guides which will include coupons, either offered directly by local companies, or by way of a relationship with the property management company and the business itself. You can also find Beaufort, SC area magazine and coupon books at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers.

- If your group is vacationing with pets, filter your search for a pet-friendly vacation rental. Ask for information on breed, weight, and type restrictions. Note that some property managers require additional pet deposits and fees.
- Visiting for a specific event? Use a map search to locate nearby properties.
- Appropriate accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for guests with disabilities. Make certain to inquire about wheel chair entry, pool lifts and specialized equipment needs.
During your stay:
- We recommend storing the owner's contact information in your smartphone and wallet.
- Property managers are there to help! Don't be shy to ask any questions during your stay.
- Lock your vacation home while you're out. Keep your property safe!
- To make certain that damages are not attributed to your visit, inspect the rental for any problem areas during check in. Get in touch with the host immediately to record any pre-existing damages. If there is a dispute, having the recorded problems and contact attempts will be useful.
- Respecting quiet hours and parking rules can make a stay more pleasurable. Be a good neighbor. You will enhance your chance to make local friends, and resident neighbors are an excellent resource to find the best local beaches and hangouts.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Locals can typically help. Who better to ask where to take kids for a treat, have a great night out, or the best spots for fishing?
- Double-check the vacation property to make sure that you've packed all of your family's items on check-out day. Check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden items. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Walk through the rental a final time and scan for damages to contents or the property itself. We recommend inspecting the property with the property manager whenever possible. If the property manager is not available, take photographs of the property to record its condition at check-out.
- Leave feedback! Hosts rely on excellent reviews to inspire future reservations. They'll be much obliged for your review. Alternatively, if something went wrong, other vacationing families will be thankful you shared your feedback and help them have the best future vacation. Please be fair with your feedback If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the manager could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded reasonably to remedy it.
