Tips to get the perfect vacation home experience:
Sticking to a rental home budget:
- June, July, and August are the most expensive months in the Beaufort, SC area. Book your rental property in Spring or Fall to get the benefit of warm weather while saving money and avoiding crowds. Many vacationers use this strategy to find larger homes within budget, or to book an oceanfront vacation rental that would otherwise be unavailable or unaffordable during June, July, and August. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Beaufort, SC vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation on the coast? Christmas, Thanksgiving, and New Years Eve are great times to gather with family and friends at your favorite beach.
- The earlier you can book, the better your selection will be. The most desirable vacation homes are reserved early. Booking your rental six - twelve months before your vacation dates is recommended. Winter holidays are excellent times to search for and reserve your rental property.
- Some property management companies offer special rates for veterans and active duty military. Remember to ask your property manager if rate reductions are available for your group before you book.
- Booking websites frequently offer guests an option to add vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which normally costs 1% - 5% of the base booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for days missed as a result of personal medical-related issues or weather, as well as ensuing additional evacuation costs or charges, such as an unexpected hotel or extra gasoline expenses. Trip insurance can be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask the property owner for program terms and fees.
- Many property management companies supply Beaufort, SC area visitor guide magazines which include coupons, either offered directly by local businesses, or by way of a relationship between the management company and the business itself. You can also find Beaufort, SC area magazine and coupon books at local gas stations and shopping centers.
Planning and picking the rightrental:
- Begin by choosing your vacation dates and a spending budget.
- Note the number bedrooms and the configuration you need. New home, neighborhood Pool, golf cart included has 4 bedrooms and 5 bathrooms.
- Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts is regularly accessible on booking pages. If you don't see them listed, email the property owner before you book the home. Note that most properties list the max. guest capacity, which typically includes sofa beds and bunks.
- Does your group require special amenities? Most rental websites include amenity lists and search filters. Filtering by amenity will allow you to quickly find your ideal rental.
- Appropriate accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for persons with a disability. Confirm all required amenities are available and included before reserving a rental.
- If your family is vacationing with pets, you'll need to book a property that allows animals. Get information on breed, weight, and type requirements. Often, property owners require additional pet deposits and fees.
Know before you go:
- Add the owner's contact information to your phone. Print and take a copy of arrival/departure procedures.
- At Check-in, note any damages to the property and immediately alert the owner. Keep records of all correspondence just in case a dispute arises.
- Property managers are there to help! Feel free to ask questions during your stay.
- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like loud visitors disrupting your peaceful home life. Use the golden rule for best judgement. Happy residents may even recommend great restaurants and places you would have never otherwise known!
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Local residents can frequently help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to launch your kayaks, have a great night out, or the best spots for fine dining?
- Ensure you protect the owner (and your stuff!) by keeping the rental locked up when you are away, just like you would back home.
- Double-check every room of the property to make sure that you've packed all personal items on check-out day. Remember to check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden treasure. Clean out the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Inspect the rental one final time and look for any damage. We suggest inspecting the property with the host whenever you can. If the property manager is not available, take video of the rental to record its condition.
- Leave feedback! Hosts rely on great reviews to stimulate future bookings. They'll be thankful for your review. Alternatively, if something went awry, other vacationing families will appreciate that you share your review and help them have the best future vacation. Remember to be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the manager had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded reasonably to fix it.
