Tips and Tricks for getting the perfect Beaufort, SC vacation home experience:

Finding your perfect rental:

  • The earlier your group can reserve a vacation rental, the easier your search will be. The best vacation homes are booked very early. Reserving your rental 6-12 months before your vacation is recommended. Holidays such as Christmas and Thanksgiving are excellent times to plan and reserve your rental.
  • Booking your Beaufort, SC vacation home in Fall or Spring is a good way to save on your vacation home. Rental rates are lower, and you'll find a larger selection of acceptable homes. Many vacationers use this strategy to find larger homes within budget, or to reserve an oceanfront vacation rental that would otherwise be unavailable during the Summer months.
  • Hosts and Property managers sometimes offer special rates for active duty military and veterans. Make sure to check with your property manager to see if special discounts are available for your family before you book.
  • Management companies and individual rental owners often offer their guests an option to obtain vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which normally costs between 1% - 5% of the base reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed vacation time as a result of personal medical-related catastrophes or weather disasters, as well as hurricane evacuation charges, such as an unanticipated hotel overnight or extra gas expenses. Trip insurance can be a a life-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask the property owner for more information.
  • Find a copy of your local Beaufort, SC visitors guide upon checking in. If your rental home doesn't have one, you can find them at local shops and visitor centers. In addition to great information, travel guides have coupons for nearby tours, shops, and attractions.

Filter your rental search:

  • Start by selecting your potential vacation weeks and a maximum budget.
  • Decide how many bedrooms and the configuration your family requires. Fripp Island Vacation Home - Bikes, golf cart and neighborhood pool included has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
  • Precise details about bedrooms and bed counts is almost always accessible on booking pages. If they are not listed, email or call the property owner before you reserve the property. Remember that most listings specify maximum guest capacity, which typically includes sofa beds. You will need to determine what bed configuration is right for your family.
  • If your family is bringing pets, filter your search for a property that allows animals. Make sure to ask for specifics on breed, weight, and type restrictions. Be aware that some hosts charge pet deposits and fees.
  • Are you looking for particular amenities? Most websites include amenity lists and search filters. Use these filters to your advantage to find the perfect rental home.
  • Suitable accessibility can make or break a vacation for persons with disabilities. Confirm all necessary amenities are available before reserving a rental.

More considerations:

  • Get the host's phone number and arrival/departure procedures for your . Store the host's information in your smartphone.
  • Property managers are there to help! Feel free to ask questions during your stay.
  • Ensure you protect the rental owner (and your stuff!) by locking the rental while you are away, just like you would back home.
  • Document any damages to the rental during check in, and immediately contact the host. We especially recommend texts and e-mails, as they usually contain built-in time stamps that can be useful if a dispute arises.
  • Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like loud vacationers bothering your peaceful home. Employ the golden rule for common sense. If they like you, locals might even recommend great beaches and places you would've never otherwise known about!
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Neighbors can typically help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to grab the best tacos, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for fishing?
  • Upon check-out, complete a walk-through to confirm you have not forget anything. Re-check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden treasure. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Inspect the rental one final time and scan for damages to contents or the property itself. We suggest inspecting the property with the host whenever possible. If the property manager is not available, remember to take photographs of the rental to record its condition.
  • Did your family have a fantastic vacation? Many rental managers make it easy for travelers to provide reviews. If your rental property and/or property manager was fantastic, they would love to hear about it. If anything was imperfect and they failed to fix it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make it a point as part of your comments.
