Booking the best Fripp Island vacation rental experience:

Money saving strategies:

  • June, July, and August are the most expensive months in Fripp Island. To get the largest vacation home within your budget, we strongly suggest reserving in the Fall or Spring. You'll benefit from lower rental rates, better selection, gorgeous weather and the absence of large crowds at your favorite restaurants and activities. Many vacationers use this strategy to reserve larger homes, or to book a beach front vacation rental that would otherwise be unavailable during the high season. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Beaufort, SC vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday on the coast? Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years are great times to gather with friends and family at the beach.
  • The earlier your group can reserve a vacation home, the better your selection will be. The most desirable rental homes are reserved early. Reserving your rental 6-12 months before your travel dates is recommended. Holidays such as Christmas and Thanksgiving are excellent times to search for and book your vacation rental.
  • Some owners offer special rates for veterans. Ask your property manager if discounts are available for your group before you book.
  • Property managers usually offer customers an option to add vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which costs 1% - 5% of the base reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed vacation time as a result of medical-related catastrophes or weather, as well as evacuation costs, such as an unexpected hotel or extra fuel expenses. Trip insurance can be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your host for program terms and fees.
  • Look for your local Beaufort, SC visitors guide when you arrive at the rental property. If your rental property doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local grocery stores and visitor centers. In addition to great information, visitors guide magazines contain coupons for nearby tours and attractions.

Make a plan and pick yourvacation home:

  • To start, have your group agree to the best dates and a budget.
  • Note the number bedrooms and the bed configuration your family requires. Center Island, Steps to beach access – 703 Silverside has 5 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms.
  • Specific details about bedrooms and bed types is normally accessible on booking pages. If you don't see them listed, email the property management company before reserving the vacation property. Note that most properties list the maximum guest capacity, which frequently includes sofa beds. You'll need to establish what configuration is best for your group.
  • If there's a certain Beaufort, SC destination you are crazy about, look for homes that are either nearby, or those that cater especially to your requirements.
  • Appropriate accessibility can make or break a vacation for guests that require the use of a wheelchair. Confirm all required amenities are available and included before booking.
  • Are you bringing the family pet? Although a number of vacation homes allow pets or animals, guidelines and costs vary per property. Allowable pet type, breed, and size are often limited. Remember to ask the property manager before booking, and study your agreement thoroughly! Extra fees or could be applied to your contract.

Have a great stay:

  • Add the property manager's contact information to your phone. Print and take a copy of check in/check out procedures.
  • Document any damages to the rental during check in, and immediately send them to the host. We specifically recommend e-mails and text messages, as they usually contain built-in time stamps that are useful if damages are attributed to your stay.
  • Property managers are there to help! Don't be shy to ask any questions before, during, or after your stay.
  • Be respectful of your neighbors. Often, adjacent homes are filled by local residents. Respecting quiet hours and parking policies can make a stay significantly more pleasurable.
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Neighbors can typically help. Who better to ask where to go for the best drinks, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for BBQ?
  • Lock your rental property while you are out! Don't let thieves spoil your vacation.
  • Don't leave anything behind! Before departing, walk through the property to make sure you've collected all belongings. Re-check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden belongings. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Inspect the property a final time and look for damages to contents or the property itself. We advise walking through with the property manager whenever possible. If the manager is not available, ensure that you take photos and video of the property to record its condition.
  • Did you have a terrific vacation? Many rental home management companies make it easy for guests to provide feedback. If your rental property and/or property manager was wonderful, they will likely appreciate your kind words. If anything was defective and they failed to address it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make a note as part of your feedback.
