Tricks and tips to get the very best Beaufort, SC rental experience:
Sticking to your rental budget:
- Summer months are the most expensive season in Fripp Island. To get the best rental home within your budget, we highly recommend reserving in the Fall or Spring shoulder seasons. You'll benefit from lower rental rates, greater selection, beautiful weather and the absence of large crowds at your favorite restaurants and activities. Many vacationers use this strategy to reserve larger homes, or to book a beach front vacation rental that would otherwise be unavailable during June, July, and August.
- Reserve your vacation home as early as possible. Rental schedules generally open a year in advance (or in September just after Summertime ends). Many groups reserve their Summer vacations during Winter holiday get-togethers. Book before these holidays for best selection.
- Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property manager if your vacationing group qualifies for a reduced rate.
- Property management companies usually offer their guests an option to obtain trip insurance. Trip insurance, which normally costs 1% - 5% of the booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed time as a result of personal medical-related catastrophes or weather, as well as evacuation costs or charges, such as an unexpected hotel stay or additional gasoline expenses. Trip insurance can be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask your property manager for program terms and fees.
- Often, rental management companies supply Beaufort, SC area visitors guides which will include money-saving deals, either offered independently by local businesses, or by way of a relationship between the management company and the business itself. You can also find Beaufort, SC visitors guide magazine and coupon books at local gas stations and shopping centers.

- Proper accessibility can make or break a vacation for those with limited mobility. .
- If your group is bringing pets, search for a pet-friendly vacation rental. Ask for details on breed, weight, and type restrictions. Be aware that some hosts require additional pet deposits and fees.
Considerations for your stay:
- Review check in & check out procedures before traveling. Save the instructions to your smartphone, and take a printed backup.
- To ensure that no damages are linked to your family's visit, inspect for any problem areas upon your arrival. E-mail the rental manager immediately to record any damages. If there is a dispute about who is responsible, having a record of problems and contact attempts will be valuable.
- Hosts are great sources of help! Don't be shy to ask any questions before, during, or after your stay.
- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like obnoxious visitors bothering your peaceful home. Practice the golden rule for best judgement. Happy residents may even recommend great local food and scenic spots you would've not otherwise known!
- Don't forget to... Ask a local! Neighbors can often help. Who better to ask where to get the best seafood, have a great night out, or the best spots for shopping?
- Lock your rental while you're out and about. Protect the owner's property and your things!
- Don't leave anything behind! Before you drive away, walk through the rental to reconfirm you've collected all personal belongings. Check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden belongings. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Record a video to document the condition of the property.
- Did your group have a fantastic stay? Many rental management companies make it easy for travelers to provide reviews. If your property and/or host was great, they would love to hear about it. If anything was amiss and they failed to correct it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make it a point as part of your feedback.
