Our top Beaufort, SC vacation rental home tips:
When to book & When to go:
- Summer months are high season in the Beaufort, SC area. Book your vacation in Spring or Fall to get the benefit of gorgeous weather while saving money and avoiding crowds. Many vacationers use this strategy to find larger homes within budget, or to book a beach front vacation rental that would otherwise be unavailable or unaffordable during the high season.
- Reserve your rental as soon as possible. Rental schedules often open a year in advance (or in September just after Summertime ends). Many families reserve their Summer vacation rentals during Winter holiday gatherings. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
- Property management companies sometimes offer special rates for active duty military and veterans. Ask your property manager if special discounts are available for your group.
- Booking websites usually offer guests an option to obtain vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which usually will cost you between 1% - 5% of the base booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed time as a result of personal medical-related emergencies or weather, as well as evacuation charges, such as an unanticipated hotel overnight or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a life-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask the property owner for details.
- Many property management companies supply Beaufort, SC area travel guide magazines which will include special offers, either offered directly by local businesses, or by way of a partnership between the management company and the business itself. You can also find visitors guide and coupon books at local gas stations and shopping centers.
Selecting and booking your prefectrental home:
- Choose vacation dates and maximum budget.
- Decide how many bedrooms and the configuration your group requires. Pet Friendly, Golf Cart included - 21 Davis Love has 3 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our vacation rental search.
- Precise information about bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is commonly available on booking pages. If you don't see them listed, call the property manager before you book the home. Remember that most properties list the max. guest capacity, which usually includes sofa beds. You'll need to establish what configuration is suitable for your group.
- Visiting for a single event or attraction? If so, use a map search to locate nearby rentals.
- Appropriate accessibility can make or break a vacation for guests that require the use of a wheelchair. Make certain to ask about specialized equipment and wheel chair accessibility.
- If your group is traveling with pets, you'll need to book a property that allows animals. Request details on breed, size, and type restrictions. Note that some property owners require additional pet deposits and fees.
More considerations:
- Add the property manager's contact info to your phone. Understand and take a copy of arrival/departure procedures.
- Upon arrival, record any issues with the property and immediately contact the owner. Record all coorespondence.
- Ask questions. You may need instructions for a fireplace, television set or WIFI setup. Contact your host. They are there to help! A brief text message can prevent quite a few concerns.
- Be respectful. Often, nearby homes are occupied by local residents. Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking regulations is the right thing to do.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Residents can frequently point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to see a beautiful sunrise or sunset, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for fine dining?
- Lock your rental while you are out. Protect your property!
- Double-check the vacation property to confirm that you've packed everything on check-out day. Check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden treasure. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Record a video to document the condition of the property.
- Leave feedback! Property owners rely on good ratings to inspire new bookings. They'll be thankful for your review. Alternatively, if something went awry, other vacationing families will appreciate that you share your experience and help them have the best future vacation. Remember to be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the host could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded quickly to remedy it.
