Tips and Tricks to get the perfect Beaufort, SC rental experience:

Find your perfect vacation home:

  • Reserve your rental as early as possible. Rental schedules generally open a year in advance (or in September just after the Summer season ends). Many families reserve their Summer vacation rentals during Winter holiday gatherings. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
  • Summer is the most expensive season in Fripp Island. Reserve your Beaufort, SC rental in the Spring or Fall to enjoy warm weather while saving money and avoiding crowded roads, restaurants, and activities. Many vacationers use this strategy to find larger homes within budget, or to reserve a beach front rental that would otherwise be unaffordable during the Summer. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Beaufort, SC vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday near the ocean? Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years are great times to gather with loved ones at your favorite beach.
  • Veterans and Active Duty Military members may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property manager or host if your vacationing group qualifies for a discount.
  • Property managers often offer guests an option to obtain trip insurance. Trip insurance, which commonly will cost between 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed trip time as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation charges, such as an unexpected hotel overnight or extra fuel expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a welcome relief if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for additional information.
  • Many management companies supply Beaufort, SC area visitors guide magazines which often include money-saving offers, either offered directly by local businesses, or by way of a partnership between the management company and the business itself. You can also find Beaufort, SC visitors guide magazine and coupon books at local shops and grocery stores.

Choosing and booking the perfect Beaufort, SC rental home:

  • First and foremost, have your family commit to trip dates and a spending budget.
  • Decide how many bedrooms and the configuration your group needs. Walking Distance to Beach! Resort Access Included - New to VRBO has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our rentals search.
  • Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts is commonly accessible online. If they are not listed, contact the property manager before you reserve the rental. Note that most property listings specify maximum guest capacity, which usually includes pull-out couches.
  • Some properties allow pets, and some don't. Acceptable types of dog or cat, weight and breeds may be restricted, and added fees may apply. Ask the owner about allowable pet guidelines before booking.
  • If there's a certain Beaufort, SC beach you long to visit, browse properties that are either near by, or those that cater especially to your needs.
  • Appropriate accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for the less-mobile. Remember to confirm all required amenities are available before reserving a rental

More tips for your stay:

  • Get the property manager's phone number and entry/exit procedures for your rental home.
  • Property managers are great sources of help! Don't be shy to ask questions before, during, or after your stay.
  • Protect the rental owner (and your things!) by locking the property when you are away, just like you would back home.
  • Record any issues with the property during check in, and immediately contact the property manager. We especially recommend e-mails and text messages, as they usually contain time stamps that can be valuable if damages are attributed to your stay.
  • Respecting quiet hours and parking policies can make a stay more pleasurable. Be a good neighbor. You'll enhance your chance to make some new local friends, and resident neighbors are often a great source for finding the best local restaurants, beaches, and hangouts.
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Local residents can often help. Who better to ask where to charter a fishing boat, have a great night out, or the best spots for crabbing?
  • Don't leave anything behind! Before departing, take a walk through the rental to reconfirm you've collected all belongings. Re-check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden treasure. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Go through the rental one final time and scan for any damage. We suggest walking through with the property manager whenever you can. If the host isn't available, ensure that you take pictures of the property to record its condition.
  • Leave feedback! Property owners rely on good reviews to propel future reservations. They'll be much obliged for your review. Alternatively, if something wasn't right, other vacationing families will will be grateful for your feedback and help them have the best future vacation. Be fair with your review. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the property manager could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded reasonably to fix it.
