Tips and Tricks for getting the perfect vacation rental experience:

When to go & When to book:

  • The sooner your group can book a rental home, the better your selection will be. The most desirable properties are booked early. Reserving your vacation home up to 12 months before your travel dates is recommended. Holidays such as Christmas and Thanksgiving are excellent times to plan and book your vacation home.
  • June, July, and August are the most expensive months in the Beaufort, SC area. Reserve your rental in the Fall or Spring shoulder seasons to get the benefit of warm weather while saving money and avoiding crowds. Many vacationers use this method to reserve larger homes, or to reserve an oceanfront vacation rental that would otherwise be unavailable or unaffordable during the Summer.
  • Property management companies sometimes offer discounts for veterans. Check with your property manager to see if rate reductions are available for your family.
  • Management companies and individual rental owners usually offer renters an option to buy vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which normally costs anywhere between 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed trip time as a result of personal medical-related issues or weather disasters, as well as evacuation charges, such as an unanticipated hotel overnight or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance might be a a life-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your property manager for more information.
  • Many management companies and vacation rental houses supply Beaufort, SC area travel guides which will include coupons, either offered independently by local businesses, or through a relationship between the property management company and the business itself. You can also find visitors guide and coupon books at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers.

How to select the best rental in Fripp Island:

  • Select vacation dates and budget.
  • Decide how many beds and what type of bedroom configuration you need. Marsh Views, Pet Friendly, On the Canal - 168 Beach Club Villa has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our Beaufort, SC rentals search.
  • Specific information about bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is often available on booking websites. Otherwise, email or call the property owner before reserving the rental. Remember that most property listings specify the max. guest capacity, which usually includes sofa beds in living rooms.
  • If your family is traveling with pets, search for a property that allows animals. Ask for details on breed, size, and type restrictions. Note that some hosts charge additional pet fees.
  • Looking for specific amenities? Most rental websites include search filters for amenities. Use these filters to your advantage to find the perfect rental home.
  • Suitable accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for guests with disabilities. Make certain to ask about wheel chair entry, pool lifts and specialized equipment needs.

Know before you go:

  • Review check in & check out procedures before traveling. Save the instructions to your smartphone, and take a printed backup.
  • Ask questions. You may want instructions for a hot tub, elevator or WIFI setup. Contact your owner. They are there to help! A brief telephone call can prevent a lot of difficulties.
  • Protect the rental owner (and your stuff!) by locking and securing the home while you are away, just like you would at home.
  • Document any issues with the property upon arrival, and immediately send them to the property manager. We specifically recommend texts and e-mails, as they usually contain built-in time stamps that can be valuable if a dispute arises.
  • Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like troublesome visitors bothering your peace. Employ the golden rule for common sense. If they like you, locals might even recommend great beaches and scenic spots you would've never otherwise known!
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Neighbors can usually help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to find the best bike paths, have a great night out, or the best spots for shopping?
  • Don't leave anything behind! Just before you drive away, take a walk through the rental property to make sure you've collected all personal items. Check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden treasure. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Go through the property one final time and keep an eye out for any damage. We suggest walking through with the host whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the manager isn't available, ensure that you take photos and video of the property to record its condition.
  • Remember to leave feedback! Hosts rely on great ratings to drive future reservations. They'll be much obliged for your review. Alternatively, if something wasn't right, other vacationers will will be grateful for your review and help them have the best future vacation. Remember to be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the host had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded expeditiously to remedy it.
